R E SO L U T I O N No. 698 <br />ADOPTING OFFICIAL PLAN LINES ON BROADWAY, JEFFERSON, ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS <br />AT THE INTERSECTION OF WHIPPLE AND EL CAMINO REAL, AND FOR THE EXTENSION OF <br />FRANKLIN STREET. <br />WHEREAS the •Planning Commission of the City of Redwood City has, by Resolution <br />Nos. 30-48, 49-48,-8-49 and 9-49 duly adopted by said Planning Commission, recommended <br />to the Council of Redwood City that certain plan lines be- established in the City of <br />Redwood -City as a part of the Street and Highway Plan of the Master Plan of Redwood <br />City, California; and <br />WHEREAS public notice of a hearing regarding the adoption of said Plan Lines <br />was duly given by such notice being published in the Redwood City Tribune on March <br />17, 1949; and <br />WHEREAS no protests, written or oral, have been presented regarding the adop- <br />tion of said Plan Lines; <br />NOV1, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT HEREBY IS RESOLVED that the Council of Redwood <br />City does hereby adopt as precised sections of the Street and Highway Plan of the <br />master plan of Redwood City, California, Official Plan Lines for the following <br />streets, as said plan lines are shown on the following maps: <br />1. Widening of Broadway as shown on that map entitled 'Official Plan Lines <br />for Broadway, between Jefferson and Main". <br />2. Widening of Jefferson and Alameda de las Pulgas as shown on that map <br />entitled "Official Plan Lines of Jefferson Avenue between Upton and the <br />westerly city limits, and Alameda de las Pulgas between Jefferson and <br />Vera Avenues". <br />3. Extension of Franklin between James and Jefferson, through the area known <br />as Butcher's Field, as shown on that map entitled "Official Plan Lines <br />of the extension of Franklin Street". <br />4. Construction of an overpass or underpass at the intersection of Whipple <br />and El Camino Real, as shown on that map entitled 'Official Plan Lines <br />of intersection of Whipple and E1 Camino Real". <br />All of the aforementioned maps now being on file in the office of the City <br />Engineer of Redwood City. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the property designated in the aforementioned <br />maps is hereby reserved for the future development of the City of Redwood City for <br />the purposes hereinbefore mentioned. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the Cit yy of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 18th day of April, 19+9, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, <br />ABSENT, <br />ATTEST: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Councilmen: SVdIFT. <br />RALPH S. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE WAS TO REFER QUESTION OF OFFICIAL PLAN LINES FOR NORTH SIDE OF <br />BROADWAY between Main and Jefferson to the Planning Commission for deliberation <br />and resolution. <br />PRELIMINARY ESTIMATE, FILL OF ROBINSON PROPERTY was prepared by City Engineer Jain <br />including removal of trees, fence, construction of 2 driveways and sidewalks was <br />submitted in the amount of $4,108.50. This did not include an estimate for pav- <br />ing at ?4560 and 169 feet of corrugated culvert at 0 4500, originally included <br />in the Engineer's estimate. This would provide a rock surface area for parking <br />65 cars which could be financed from parking meter funds. It was the City Manager's <br />
