STA14BAUGH IMPROVE14ENT DISTRICT. City Engineer Jain reported that Mr. Belden S. Gardner
of Hannaford & Talbot, San Francisco advised that he would look over this area
upon his return from the East and Mr. Jain thought it would'be feasible to await
his return before making a recommendation as to preparing of plans and specifica-
tions for one block of Laurel Street alone as requested at the last meeting. Due
to drainage conditions improvement of one block would increase difficulties in
other unimproved blocks below and would not alleviate drainage condition around
Hoover School property. Councilman Holmquist moved this be carried on the agenda
until bonding man returned, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. Councilman
Holmquist offered to circulate petition in this area if one would be draim up.
OFFICIAL PLAN LINES. Resolution was ready establishing official plan lines on S W side
of Broadway, widening of Jefferson and Alameda de las Pulgas, extension of Franklin
through Butcher Field, intersection of Whipple and El Camino Real for overpass or
underpass. Councilman Morgan offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by
Councilman Spillers, and carried on roll call, Councilman Swift noted absent.
