<br />proceedings, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried.

<br />responding to emergency fire calls and large delivery trucks etc. at the intersec-
<br />tion of Arguello and Marshall caused congestion and obscured vision. Councilman
<br />Morgan moved approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Council-
<br />man Britschgi suggested the police enforce parking regulations. Motion carried.
<br />THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE RECOMMENDED FAVORABLE CONSIDERATION BY THE COUNCIL TO THE REQUEST
<br />OF THE REDWOOD CITY TRIBUNE TO ADVERTISE IN THE FIESTA EDITION TO BE PUBLISHED
<br />August 11, 1949. Councilman Granger moved the matter be inclused in the budget
<br />and that the recommendation be included for next year, seconded by Councilman
<br />Morgan, carried.

<br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE CERTAIN PORTIONS OF WILLOW AND HILTON
<br />STREETS IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY.
<br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that it hereby declares
<br />its intention to vacate and abandon as a public street portions of Willow and
<br />Hilton Streets in the City of Redwood City,, and reference is hereby made to a map
<br />on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City for further
<br />particulars as to said proposed street vacation.
<br />The portions of Willow and Hilton Streets to be vacated are particularly
<br />described as follows:
<br />All that portion of Hilton Street, sixty (60) feet in width, from
<br />the Northwest line of Willow Street, sixty (60) feet in width, to the
<br />Southeast line of Laurel Street, sixty (60) feet in width, and all that
<br />portion of.Willow Street, sixty (60) feet in width, from the Northeast
<br />line of Stambaugh Street, sixty (60) feet in width, to a line parallel
<br />to the Northeast line of Hilton Street, sixty (60) feet in width, and
<br />sixty-five (65) feet Northeasterly therefrom; all of said portions being
<br />located in the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of
<br />California, and as described on that map entitled 'Stambaugh Street
<br />Addition, San Mateo County, California0', which map was recorded on
<br />August 17, 1912 in Volume S, Page 20 of Official Records of San Mateo
<br />County.
<br />FURTHER RESOLVED that May 23rd, 1949 at S o'clock P. id. ath the City Hall in
<br />Redwood City is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where all persons
<br />interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of said streets will be heard.
<br />FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THIS resolution shall be published once in the Redwood
<br />City Tribune, a daily (except Sunday) newspaper, published, printed and circulated
<br />in the City of Redwood City.
<br />FURTHER RESOLVED that notices of the passage of this resolution shall be posted
<br />by the Superintendent of Streets of this City conspicuously along said streets in
<br />at least three (3) places at least ten (10) days before said hearing.
<br />FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Redwood City intends to reserve and except
<br />from the aforement°toned vacation of streets the permanent easement and rights at
<br />any time or from time to time to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove and
<br />renew sanitary sewers, storm drains and appurtenant strileturee in, upon, over and
<br />across any street or part thereof proposed to be vacated, and to construct, maintain,
<br />operate, replace, remove, renew and -enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
