217 <br />man Swift nambd Henry C. Witte, realtor; Mayor Werder named Dr. A. J. Fromm. <br />BLANDFORD STREET ISLAND. Committee 'of Mayor Werder, Councilman Britschgi and City Engineer made a survey <br />in r egard to removal of this island, or portion thereof. Neighbors were there and were satisfied <br />with City Engineer's recommendation to revamp curb and work would be started as soon as crew was <br />available. <br />AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLISHING NOTICE CALLING FOR BIDS ON KENSINGTON SQUARE N0. 1 ordered filed on motion of. <br />' Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />AFFIDAVIT ON POSTING NOTICE CALLING FOR BIAS'S. KENSINGTON S QUARE"NO. 1 ordered filed on motion of Council- <br />man Granger, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />OPENING OF BIDS KENSINGTON SQUARE IMPROVEMENTS. Following bids were submitted; <br />Edwin J. Tobin Co. $750738.58 + <br />' 10% bid bond <br />t P.Sorensen 79.941.10 <br />10% bid bond <br />Underground Construction Co. 118.656.65 <br />f 10% bid bond <br />I ®� <br />Councilman Granger moved bids be referred to City Engineer for checking, seconded by Councilman <br />Holmquist and carried. Bids were checked by City Engineer and found to be correct except the <br />Underground Construction Cc which should have been $118,844.65. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON INDUSTRIAL DRILL TRACK AND INDUSTRIAL SPUR TRACK for Land Development Company. Affidavit <br />of publication ordered filed on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 614 - INDUSTRIAL DRILL TRACK AND INDUSTRIAL SPUR TRACK. Councilman Morgan moved adoption <br />t <br />of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi noted <br />Iabsent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING BUS BENCHES. Councilman Spillers moved that affidavit of publication be filed, seconded <br />by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 615. BUS BENCHES. CouncilmanSpillers moved adoption of ordinance, seconded by Councilman <br />Morgan. Wording in ordinance that "City Council"' determine change of loation of benches, instead <br />of "City.:Manager" had been made. Motion carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi noted absent. <br />APPROVAL OF PROGRESS ESTIMATES, <br />Fred J.Early, Sewer Plant <br />P.Sorensen, Final - Sidewalks Community Park <br />P.Sorensen, Tennis Courts <br />Auditor Brophy stated approval would be subject to availability of funds. Councilman Morgan moved <br />approval of payment of progress estimates, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />ACCEPTANCE OF SEWER EASEMENT DEEDS, S. KENSINGTON SQUARE: <br />James J. and Kathleen O'Neill <br />Richard and Annie Rohrs <br />Amelia Smith <br />Olive Clark <br />CouncilmanSpillers moved acceptance of deeds, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />APPROVAL OF ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM JOHNSON STREET. Councilman Swift offered re solution and moved adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Spillers <br />and <br />carried <br />on <br />roll call. Councilman Britschgi noted absent. <br />R E S <br />O L <br />U T I O <br />N <br />N 0. 719 <br />APPROVING ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM JOHNSON STREET' 1948-4 <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did nn September 27, 1948, pass and adopt <br />Resolution No. 616, ordering certain work and improvements to be made in theCity of Redwood City, <br />said work and improvements being described and set out in Resolution of Intention No. 610 of <br />said Council, passed and.adopted on August 30, 1948, said resolutions being both on file in the <br />office of the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City, and to which resolutions reference is hereby <br />made for further particulars, and . . <br />WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 616 directed the City Engineer to make and sign the msessments <br />
