MINUTES.--OF REGULAR MEETING 223 <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />June 20th, 1949, 8:00 P. M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen: Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, <br />H. E. Holmquist, A. V. Swift, Mayor W..M. Werder and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also <br />present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, Building Inspector L. M. Duncan, Police <br />Chief C. L. Collins, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Admin- <br />istrative Assistant R. D. Miller, Assistant Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, City <br />Engineer Glenn Id. Jain and Assessor J. J. Brophy. Councilman Morgan was detained <br />on account of illness and Councilman Spillers was out of town. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES AS MAILED. Minutes of the regular meeting of June 6th and special <br />' meeting & June 9th were approved on motion of Councilman Swift, seconded by Council <br />man Holmquist and carried. <br />PROPOSED SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE. Planning Commission submitted to the Council for their <br />study and final action, the proposed subdivision ordinance on which two public hear- <br />ings had been held. On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Holmquist <br />subject will be held in abeyance until after the completion of budget study at which <br />time a meeting with the members of the Planning Commission to go over the ordinance <br />with them will be arranged. Motion carried. <br />SEWER AGREEMENT FRATERNAL ORDER OF EAGLES. Agreement was offered to cover temporary <br />sewer connection on Liguori Street to be permanently installed when street is im- <br />proved. The agreement met with the approval of City Manager Rolison,.City Engineer <br />Jain, and•City Attorney Currie, It was approved on motion of Councilman Swift, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />REQUEST FOR FUNDS TO COMPLETE HOOVER RECREATION BUILDING. Parks and Recreation Commission. <br />recommendfunds to complete building not to exceed $3000 be supplied. On motion of <br />Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, referred to the Budget Study <br />meeting. Motion carried. <br />DAMAGE CLAIM BY'JOHN J. IVERS. Claim for alledged damages caused by a fall of Mrs. <br />Lorraine'Ivers on California Street near James was rejected and referred to Insur- <br />ance -carriers on motion of Councilman Swift, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. <br />Motion carried. <br />HUBBARD MOTORS REQUEST FOR PERMIT TO OPERATE A NEW AND USED CAR AGENCY at 1612 El Camino <br />Real. The applicant has purchased the agency from present operators, Brown and <br />McDonnell. The permit was granted on motion of Councilman Holmquist, second ed by <br />Councilman Swift and carried. <br />RESTAURANT APPLICATION No. 8 Linden Street was granted on motion of Councilman Holmquist, <br />seconded by Councilman G ranger, premises having been inspected and approved by the <br />usual agencies. Motion carried. <br />RESTAURANT APPLICATION K. B. OSBORNE, 2345 Middlefield Road. The regular agencies have <br />approved premises. License approved on motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by <br />Councilman Granger and carried. <br />MARIO BELLONI REQUEST FOR RESTAURANT PERMIT allowed on motion of Councilman Swift, seconded <br />by Councilman Holmquist subject to corrections as indicated by the Health Department <br />inspection, namely, installation of vestibule and new grease trap installed by <br />July lst.• Motion carried. <br />TEEN AGE CENTER BILLS as listed below were approved for payment on motion of Councilman <br />Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Swift, the money to come from the Special Recreation <br />
