of a 4080" x 8216" (25 -meter) pool was submitted to the Recreation Department by Paddock Engineering <br />Company, 7th & Bayshore Boulevard, San Mateo. They had recently completed a 25 -meter pool for Liver- <br />more Union High School. Their portion of work under the Gensral Contractor was approximately $30,000 <br />and included complete pool structure with tile trimmed scum gutter, permanent "Silicite"'finish of the <br />pool interior, complete recirculating system (filters), Chlorinator, pool underwater lighting, spring- <br />boards, ladders, and cleaning equipment. The cost of a kating plant, buildings, fencing, utilities <br />and a ehitect's fees would be in addition tosbove cost. Mr. Hanley stated approximately $60,000 <br />would cover entire project, suggested that City Engineer's office help out on this project, that <br />several thousand dollars in the Recreation Fund could be transferred to the swimming pool project <br />I and he further proposed that the Mayor appoint a committee to work on this, and meet with the Recrea- <br />tion Commission. Mayor Werderiappointed Councilmen Spillers, Holmquist, Granger, Mr. Wm. H. Hanley, <br />and City Manager Rolison on the committee. Music racks were to be offered to high school on license agree - <br />meet. <br />MR. JOHN LAYNG, MEMBER OF PLANNING COMMISSION; term expired June 19, 1949. Councilman Spillers introduced <br />name of Bill Royer as a possible appointee. There being no verbal or written protests, <br />Councilman Morgan offered resolution approving assessment roll and moved adoptton,s3eonded by <br />Councilman Britscbgi and carried on roll call. <br />RES 0LUTI0N N0. 726 <br />RESOLUTION CONFIRMING ASSESSMENT JOHNSON S TREET (1948-4') <br />WHEREAS the City Council of the City of Redwood City, on August 30, 1945, duly and regularly <br />passed and adopted Resolution of Intention No. 610, Johnson Street (1948-4), declaring its inten- <br />tion to make certain street improvements more partitularly.described therein and to which reference <br />is hereby made; and <br />WHEREAS an assessment diagram was prepared and approved by the City Council of the City of <br />Redwood City on June 6, 1949, to which reference is hereby made; and <br />WHEREAS, on the 10th day of June, 1949, there was filed with the Clerk of the City of Redwood <br />City, an assessment to cover the sum due for the work and improvements as set out in said Resolution <br />of Intention No. 610; and <br />WHEREAS said improvement has been satisfactorily completed; and <br />WHEREAS proper notice of the filing of said assessment was given by the City Clerk of the City <br />of Redwood City by posting, and causing tq be- published, a notice of filing assessmett, aid mailing <br />notices of the assessment to each person owning property to be assessed; and <br />WHEREAS a hearing was held on July 5, 1949, in the City Hall of the City of Redwood City, at <br />which time all written protests were read and all oral protests were heard; and <br />WHEREAS all protests, written or oral, to the assessment as filed, were duly overruled; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of RedwoodCity resolves as follows: That the <br />assessment covering the cost of doing the work described in Resolution of Intention No. 610 of <br />said Council, passed and adopted by said Council on August 30, 1948, which assessment is now on <br />file with the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed. <br />0 <br />n <br />in <br />ail <br />
