LOT 8, BLOCI 51, MAP 50. 2 OF <br />CENTRAL PARK <br />WHEREAS, Lot 8 in Block 51 as shown on that certain map entitled „Map No. 2 of Central Park, <br />Redwood City, San Mateo County", filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on <br />July 20, 1912 in Book 8 of Maps at pages 15 and'16, was sold to the City of Redwood City for delin- <br />quent taxes, and <br />WHEREAS. HARRY HUTCHINGS'and LOREE HUTCHINGS, his wife, thereafter purchased said lot and <br />obtained a deed from the City of Redwood City, in which deed racial restrictions were inserted <br />restricting occupancy thereof to members of the Caucasian race, and <br />WHEREAS, said property is situated in an area which is generally occupied by rnon-Caucasians <br />and said restrictive clause was inadvertently inserted in said deed; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that all re- <br />strictions as to racial occupancy of said property be and they are hereby removed and the owner <br />of said property and any successor in interest is hereby freed from any restrictions with respect <br />(,•1\to occupancy of said property. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, duly certified by the Clerk of the <br />City be delivered to said HARRY HUTCHINGS and LOREE HUTCHINGS, his wife, for recordation. <br />I, RALPH S. Councilman Granger moved that ordinance provide that <br />application be made to Planning Commission to move house, Planning Commissio4o investigate and <br />make recommendation to Council and the Council to make final decision, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. <br />PROPOSED NOISE ORDINANCE. COUNCIL SUGGESTED CITY ATTORNEY PREPARE A COMPREHENSIVE ORDINANCE to be <br />studied by them. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN RAISED THE QUESTION OF COUNCIL ACTION TO BE TAKEN ON THE REPORT OF THE CITIZENS BOND <br />COMMITTEE in regard to cancellation of $150,000 bonds. Mayor Warder suggested.that a written <br />report be submitted by the secretary of the committee for the Council's consideration and action. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN 14OVED THAT THE COUNCIL GO ON RECORD PRAISING THE WORK OF THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS', <br />and that a letter of appreciation be written to those outside of the City who assisted in handling <br />the large three day attendance for the Rodeo and July 4th Celebration so successfully, seconded <br />by the Councilman Granger and carried on roll call. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER.MOVED THAT NECESSARY STEPS BE TAKEN TO ABATE TREES ON HARRISON =T AS THE CITY HAD <br />HAD CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE CLEANING OUT SEWERS, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER SUGGESTED THAT CITY ATTORNEY SUBMIT ORDINANCE ON PEDLER'S LICENSE to curtail activity <br />of pan handling veterans and any others by making it necessary for anyone not in a fixed business to <br />secure Council approval of permit, and he so moved that City Attorney prepare such an ordinance, <br />
