246 , <br />APPOINTMENT LIBRARY BOARD. Mrs. Mary Gregg Thorning and Mr. W. J. Iti'IcK.eegan were re- <br />appointed for a term of three years and to be notified by the City Clerk to take oath <br />of office at the next regular meeting, seconded b y Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />APPOINTMENT TO PLANNING COMMISSION. On motion of Councilman Spillers Wm. H. Royer was ap- <br />pointed to succeed Mr. John Layng, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />Mr. Royer was present and City Clerk Ralph Dodge administered oath of office. <br />Councilman Spillers asked to be excused for Doctor's appointment and left the meeting at <br />9:00 P. M. <br />BOUNDARIES BROADWAY No. 3. City Engineer Jain submitted recommendation of boundaries of <br />proposed assessment district as shown on attached map. Councilman Holmquist moved <br />approval of boundaries and to include pumping plant and bridge, seconded by Council- <br />man Swift$ and carried. City Engineer Jain suggested that after plans were pre- <br />pared the Council should state in a resolution what advance the City would make <br />toward the project. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE SUBMITTED AN ORDINANCE ON REGULATIN AUCTIONS AND A COMPREHENSIVE <br />NOISE ORDINANCE for the perusal of the Council. Copies were given to the Council <br />members for their study and consideration. This was placed on the agenda. <br />HOUSE MOVING ORDINANCE WAS READY FOR INTRODUCTION, the Planning Commission to hold a <br />hearing, notice 7 days prior to hearing and to make recommendation in writing to <br />the City Council for such permit, the Council to grant said permit. Councilman <br />Holmquist moved introduction or ordinance, seconded by Councilman Granger, and <br />carried. <br />PROCEDURE IDI REGARDS TO TREE ROOTS BLOCKING SENDER LINES. Property owners had been con- <br />tacted with no response. Councilman Granger moved that City Attorney Currie <br />address the people in this area n6tifying them of the public health problem by <br />registered mail. If no reply is received within time set by City Attorney Currie, <br />steps will be taken to abate the nuisance. Motion seconded by Councilman Swift, <br />and carried. <br />YMCA REQUEST FOR ABANDONMENT OF EASEIvE NT. City Attorney Currie discussed this with the <br />title company and it was their suggestion that the members of the church talk to <br />Dr. Fromm. Councilman Holmquist moved this be placed on the agenda for the first <br />meeting in August, the Council to take no action until approved by Dr. Fromm, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />SALARY ORDINANCE. Councilman Holmquist moved affidavit of publication be filed, seconded <br />by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />SALARY ORDINANCE No. 617. Councilman Granger moved adoption of ordinance seconded by <br />Councilman Holmquist and carried on roll call. Councilmen Morgan, Spillers, and <br />Werder were noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SALARY RATES ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE No. 603, as amended by Ordi- <br />nance No. 617, was offered and moved for .adoption by Councilman Swift, seconded <br />by Councilman Holmquiat, and carried on roll call. Councilmen Morgan, Spillers, <br />and Vierder were noted absent. <br />RES OLUTI ON No. 737 <br />ESTABLISHING SALARY RATES UNDER CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN ADOPTED BY <br />ORDINANCE No. 603, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE No. 617. <br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, that the following <br />salary rates were established for the city employees names except as otherwise <br />herein sh6wn; <br />I <br />
