<br />JOHNSON STREET HEARING.
<br />I hereby approve the foregoing resolution this
<br />27th -day of September, 1945.

<br />Acting Mayor Morgan announced that this was the time for the
<br />public hearing originally set for September 24th, which due to lack of quorum was
<br />duly and regularly set over to tonight's meeting. On motion of Councilman Holmquist,
<br />seconded by Councilman Swift, affidavit of publication and mailing of notices signed
<br />by the City Clerk and the affidavit of posting -signed by the Superintendent of Streets
<br />were -ordered filed. Motion carried. Upon the City Clerk advising that no written
<br />protests were received, City Attorney Currie announced that it was proper to proceed
<br />with the adoption of necessary resolutions. On motion of Councilman Britschgi,
<br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist, any possible protests were ordered overruled.
<br />Motion carried.
<br />RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK TO BE DONE AND CALLING FOR BIDS. Councilman Holmquist offered
<br />resolution and moved adoption setting the date for opening of bids October 11th.
<br />Motion seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call. Councilman
<br />Spillers and Mayor Werder noted absent.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 616
<br />RESOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS AND CALLING FOR BIDS - JOHNSON STREET 1945-4
<br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did, on the 30th day of August,
<br />1945, pass and adopt Resolution of Intention No: 610 (Johnson Street 1945-4) to
<br />order the hereinafter described work to be done and improvements to be made in said
<br />City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, notices of the passage -of said Resolution of Intention No. 610, headed
<br />°NOTICE OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENT°, were duly and regularly posted along the line of said
<br />contemplated work and improvements and in front of all the property liable to be
<br />assessed therefor, and on all of the streets in the district to be assessed therefor,
<br />in the time, form, manner and number as required by law, as appears from the affi-
<br />davits of GLENN M. JAIN, Superintendent of Streets of the City of Redwood City, on
<br />file in the office of the Clerk of said City; and
<br />WHEREAS, it appears from the affidavits of RALPH S. DODGE, City Clerk of the
<br />City of Redwood City, that notices of the adoption of the said Resolution of Intention
<br />were mailed to all persons owning real property proposed to be assessed for said
<br />improvements in the time, form and manner as required by law, which affidavit is on
<br />file with the Clerk of said City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS,it appears from the affidavit of LU VERNE H. HAMLIN that said Resolution
<br />of Intention was duly and regularly published in the Redwood City Tribune, a news-
<br />paper published, printed and circulated in the City of Redwood City; and
<br />WHEREAS, in and by said Resolution of Intention No. 610 and the notices 6f the
<br />passage thereof posted, published and mailed as aforesaid, said Council of the City
<br />of Redwood City fixed Friday, the 24th day of September, 1945, at the hour of 5:00
<br />o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council Chambers of the Council of the City of
<br />Redwood City in the City Hall on Middlefield Road in said City, as the day, hour
<br />and place when and where any and all persons having any objections to the proposed
<br />work and improvements described in said Resolution of Intention No. 610, or to the
<br />grades at which said work and improvements are to be done and made, or to the
<br />district assessed for said work and improvements, could appear before said Council
<br />and show cause why said proposed work and improvements should not be carried out
<br />and done in accordance with said Resolution of Intention No. 610, or why said work
<br />and improvements should not be carried out and done at the grades as shown on the
<br />plans, profiles and detailed drawings referred to in said Resolution of Intention
<br />No. 610, and 'now on file in the office'of the Clerk of -the City of Redwood City;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, the said hearing was duly and regularly continued until Monday,
<br />September 27th, 1945, at the hour of 5:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council
<br />Chambers of the Council of the City of Redwood City in the City Hall on Middlefied
<br />Road in said City; and
<br />WHEREAS, at the day, hour and place last above mentioned, no persons appeared
<br />and made written objections to said work and improvements described in said Resolu-
<br />tion of Intention No. 610, or to the extent of the district to be assessed therefor;
<br />and
<br />WHEREAS, said Council did resolve and determine that protests were not made
