FEW <br />C <br />FRED KRAFT APPLICATION FOR WATER SERVICE EMERALD LAKE DISTRICT. Superintendent H.L.Winter explained to 271 <br />Council <br />71 - <br />Council situation whereby it would be necessary to lay approximately 1200 feet of 4" line at a cost <br />r <br />of approximately $2500. While future development might justify such an expenditure, at present Kraft <br />h explained he was financially unable to finance the line even though- he might be refunded part of the <br />cost if and when additional services were connected. After general discussion of the problem Council— <br />1 man Granger suggested that matter be.placed on the agenda and an effort be made to workout some plan <br />whereby Mr. Kraft might obtain water. Mayor Werder requested .Councilman Granger, Superintendent �Iinter, <br />Mr. Kraft and Mr.Rolison to arrange a meeting and go over the area and bring in a report at the next <br />meeting. <br />AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION ORDINANCE GRANTING FRANCHISE FOR WATER LINE TO NATIONAL MOTOR BEARING. Affidavit <br />I <br />filed on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. . <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE # 618. Councilman Morgan moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried on <br />roll call, Councilman Spillers noted absent. <br />AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION ORDINANCE REGULATING TAOVINP OF BUILDINGS.. Affidavit filed on motion of Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE #619. Councilman Morgan moved adoption seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried <br />i <br />on roll call, CouncilmanSpillers noted absent. <br />LIGHTING EL CAMINO AND HAZEL — IA UREL AND BAYSHORE & WHIPPLE. Agenda. <br />SIGNALS, EL CAPI<NO REAL AND WHIPPLE AVENUE. City Manager Rolison explained original project for this signal <br />anticipated overhead wires. It had since been Cdiscussed and underground wires were held to be more <br />satisfactory. This would, however, add some $6000 to the project which would mean the cancellation of <br />a like amount for another project, possibly the Ohestnut Street project. Due to the extreme urgency <br />of signals at this point it was decided to get started immediately on this pr6ject, and Councilman <br />Granger moved that City Engineer (contact State Highway requesting authorization to transfer the $6000 <br />to the project. Motion was seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. In the meantime, it was <br />suggested that Fire Chief Lodi install blinker lights on Ll Camino Real as a temporary aid untal'.the <br />signals can be installed. <br />PROBOSED ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 561 abandoning the Traffic and Safety Commission was introduced <br />on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />PETITION FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS, POPLAR, JUNIPERO AND VIRGINIA AVENUES. City -1h <br />gineer Jain advised t}at <br />sufficient percentage of property owners had signed petitions, and he recommended that plans and <br />specifications be prepared and that City Auditor be authorized to advance costs from the General Fund <br />I <br />to be reimbursed later from the assessment district. The areas involved are as follows: <br />Poplar Avenue between Junipero Avenue & -Redwood Terrace No. 1. <br />Junipero Avenue between Poplar and Redwood Avenues. <br />Virginia Avenue between Poplar and Redwood Avenues. <br />Recommendation approved on motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Morgan. Motion <br />carried. <br />PETITION FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS — LAUREL STREET T BETWEEN MIDDLEFIELD ROAD, AND STAMBAUGH STREET. City <br />Engineer had secured 83.4 percent of property owners in this one block. City Lngineer suggests <br />fthat petitions be circulated in the Stambaugh area for sanitary and storm sewers; only at this time <br />i <br />( and recommended further that plans and specifications be prepared, also that City Auditor be author— <br />ized to advance payments out of the General Fund, to be reimbursed from the assessment district <br />later. Recommendation approved on motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Granger and <br />carried. <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FIRE ZONES ready for introduction. City Attorney advised publication costs <br />would be approximately $$300 which would include cost of preparing 4 sectional maps for publication. <br />
