Building Inspector Duncan stated one had taken out permit <br />(Shermer) to correct condition. Councilman Swift moved that all hearings on above abatements be duly <br />and regularly continued to September 6th and resolution be prepared by City Attorney, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />MR. W.J.McREEPAN, RE -APPOINTED TO LIBRARY BOARD TOOK LOYALTY OATH administered by City Clerk Dodge. ldayor <br />Werder expressed appreciation on his re -appointment. Mrs. Thorning was not present to take o&th on <br />account of illness. <br />CITY MANAGER'REQUESTED AUTHORITY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR REPLACEMENT ON AN AUXILIARY GASOLINE DRIVEN ~ <br />GENERATING SET FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT. Current budget provided appropriation for purchase. Equipment <br />would provide stand-by service for Police Radio in event of local electric power interruptions. Coun- <br />cilman Holmquist moved authority be granted to advertise for bids, seconded by Councilman Morgan and <br />carried. <br />APPLICATION FOR RENEWAT/bF USED CAR PERMIT, GASKIL*TORS, 2101 EL CAMINO REAL was granted on motion of Coun- <br />cilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />TEEN-AGE CENTER BILLS: <br />Kist Bottling Company $$146..29 <br />Gift and Toy 1.09 <br />Charles Passow & Sons 29.66 <br />$177.o4 <br />Bills having been approved by City Auditori,Councilman Morgan moved approval of payment, seconded by <br />1 11 <br />Councilman Swift and carried. <br />IE AGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES, PENINSULA DIVISION,DINNER THURSDAY, AUGUST 18th, Dinah's Shack. Roll was <br />called, Councilmen to be again reminded by Administrative Assistant Miller. <br />OFFER TO PURCHASE REDWOOD CITY ANIMAL SHELTER PROPERTY was again made by City Superintendent Andrew Spinas <br />of Elementary School District, stating the Board of Trustees was still interested in acquiring the <br />property although the first offer was written under the mistaken idea that $1500 was the price for <br />all three lots. The total valuation of all property was $$4540. After discussion whether or not this <br />would be kept for recreation area, Councilman Morgan moved this be referred to Real Estate Committee <br />for further study and report back at next meeting, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />CLAIM OF PACIFIC TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY for alleged damage in the amount of $$250 to underground <br />cable by grader operated by E.Consani, while cutting a drainage canal. Accident occurred at rear <br />
