1 <br />285 <br />ORDINANCE #620 REPEALING ORDINANCE #561 ESTABLISHING A TRAFFIC AND SAFETY COMMISSION was adopted on motion <br />of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call. Councilmen Granger <br />and Spillers noted absent. <br />AWARD OF BIDSk'OR REPLACEMENTS` OF TWO 1948 CHEVROLET SEDANS FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT.- City Manager concurred <br />in recommendation of Police Chief Collins after consideration of various bids offered that bid of <br />Shaw Motor Company for two 4 -door Fordline eight -cylinder ,sedans be accepted at a net cost, after <br />trade-in of $1,069.18. Councilman Morgan moved acceptance of recommendation, seconded by Councilman <br />Swift and carried. <br />AWARD OF BID FOR 105 CFM AIR COMPRESSOR. City Manager recommended that bid be awarded to Victor Equipment <br />Company for a new Schrq= De Luxe Model (with tool boxes and hose reels) for the sum of $2227.89.. .. <br />List price of thismachine was $3260 from which credit for rental had been deducted. Councilman <br />Morgan moved acceptance of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />PROPOSED LIGHTING UNITES EL CAMINO REAL AT HAZEL& IAUREL STREETVAND AT INTERSECTION OF BAYSHOROIGHWAY <br />AND WHIPPLE STREET. Division of Highways approved changes proposed for Hazel & Laurel Streets; <br />installation at intersection of Bayshore & Whipple should be made in accordance with provisions <br />as covered by Encroachment Permit #E-48663 issued to the City of Redwood City on January 27, 1949. <br />Report accepted. <br />ORDINANCE ON FIRE ZON3S WAS READY FOR INTRODUCTION. City Attorney stated this had been cut down to two <br />maps, saving about half on advertising,which was the only change after discussion with Council at <br />last meeting. Councilman Swift moved introduction of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Britschgi <br />and carried. <br />SALARY ORDINANCE, ADDING POSITION OF CLERK TO FIRE DEPARTMENT. Councilman Holmquist moved introduction of <br />ordinance, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />FINAT/ABANDONMENT OF EASFAIENT,LIGUORI STREET. Affidavit of posting and publication was ordered filed on <br />motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING. FINALABANDONMENT OF EASEMENT,LIGUORI,STREET. There were no protests-,. <br />RESOLUTION 762 FINAL ABANDONMENT OF EASEMENT, LIGUORI STREET. Councilman Holmquist offered resolution <br />and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call. Councilman Granger <br />and Spillers noted absent. <br />RES 0 L U T 1 0 N N0. 762 <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING VACATION AND ABANDONMENT OF CERTAIN PUBLIC EASEMENTS ADJOINING <br />LIGUORI STREET IN THE CITY OF REDWM CITY <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City, on July 18, 1949, passed and adopted a Resolution <br />No. 750, which resolution declared said Council's intention to vacate and abandon as a public park- <br />ing easement, certain easements adjoining Liguori Street in -the City of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS said resolution fixed the date of August 15, 1949 as the date of the hearing in the <br />City Hall, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., on said Council's intention to vacate and abandon said <br />easements adjoining Liguori Street in the City of Redwood City; and - <br />WHEREAS the Superintendent of Streets of the City of Redwood City conspicuously posted along <br />said easements proposed to be vacated and abandoned, in three (�.) places along said easements and <br />at least ten (10) days before the date fixed for the hearing on said abandonment, a notice of inten- <br />tion to vacate certain public easements adjoining Liguori Street in the City'of Redwood City; and <br />WHEREAS said Resolution No -750 was duly published in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except <br />Sunday) newspaper, publibhed,printed and circulated in the City of Redwood City, all as required by <br />law; and <br />WHEREAS no protest or objection to the abandonment and vacation of said easements adjoining <br />Liguori Street in the City of Redwood City as a public parking easement was made at said hearing; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redwood City does hereby <br />declare and order that the realproperty hereinafter described is vacated and abandondd as a public <br />easement: \\ <br />The Northerly 50 feet of Lots 16 and 17 in Block 2 as designated on the map <br />entitled "BROADWAY NO. 3 REEPO OD CITY CALIFORNIA RESUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 3 OF <br />MAP NO. 1 OF BROADWAY, FILED IN VOLUME 22 OF MAPS, PAGE 18, AND BEING VPORTION <br />OF SWEENY'S ADDITION,FILED IN BOOK"C" OF T11APS AT PAGE 68 SAN MATEO COUNTY RECORDS, <br />
