WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF .REQUEST OF GAS -O -MAT COMPANY TO BUILD UP TO WESTERLY <br />BOUNDARY OF 0-1 DISTRICT ON THEIR PROPERTY AT OAKWOOD DRIVE AND EICAMINO REAL. Property was divided <br />into two zones; C-1 for depth of 150 feet and remainder of property in an R District. Proposed <br />building would be over 24 feet from the nearest home on Oakwood Drive. Councilman Britschgi moved <br />approval, seconded by Councilman Morgan. Building Inspector Duncan stated report was correct. <br />Motion carried. <br />ASSOCIATE ENGINEER CAROZZA REPORTED PROGRE596N LENOLT TRACT. <br />(LENOLT) <br />CITY MANAGER ROLISON STATED THERE WERE A NUMBER OF CITY LOTS IN THIS/TRACT ON WHICH THE .CITY WOULD HAVE <br />TO STAND THE EXPENSE OF PAVING; City also owns property on Virginia Avenue. Provision would have <br />to be made im the budget for this expenditure as it would be inadvisable for the City to pay interest <br />on the bonds. The lots were for sale. <br />RESOLUTION 764. CITY ATTORNEY PRESENTED RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REMOVAL OF RACILA RESTRICTIONSON LOTS <br />564and 57, BLOCK 4, 'NEST REDWOOD. Councilman Britschgi offered resolution and moved adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried on roll call. Councilmen Granger and Spillers noted <br />absent. <br />RES GLUT ION N0. 764 <br />AUTHORIZING REMOVAL OF RACIAL RESTRICTIONS, LOTS 56 and 57, BLOCK 4, WEST REDWBOD <br />WHEREAS, Lots 56 and 57.in Block 4 as shown on that certain map entitled °West Redwood", <br />filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Alateo County on October 8, 1908 in Book 6 <br />of Maps at page 43, were sold to the City of Redwood City for delinquent taxes; and <br />l7HEREAS, LEONARD REALTY CO., a corporation, thereafter purchased said lots and obtained, <br />a deed from the City of Redwood City, in which deed racial restrictions were inadvertently <br />inserted restricting occupancy thereof to members of the Caucasian race; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that all <br />restrictions as to racial occupancy of said property be and they are hereby removed and the <br />owner of said property and any successor in interest is hereby freed from any restrictions with <br />respect to occupancy of said property. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, duly certified by the Clerk of <br />the City be delivered to PENINSULA TITLE GUARANTY COI&ANY, for recordation. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the,City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof, <br />held on the 15th day of August, 19493 by the following vote:- <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: Councilmen: <br />BRITSCHGI, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SWIFT and WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE. <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: GRANGER and SPILLERS. <br />ATTEST: <br />Clerk of theACity 6fDRIe ood City <br />W.
