I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution <br />this 16th day of August, 1949. <br />W. M. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN INQUIRED ABOUT AMUSEMENT MACHINE LICENSE. Amounts to be studied. This waolaced on <br />the agenda. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST SUGGESTED WARNING SIGN AT CASSIA & SPRING STREETS between Spring and Broadway as <br />there had been several accidents there, and he moved that this be referred to the Traffic Fact <br />Finding Committee, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST STATED THAT MR.H. MORRIS, VERA & ALAMEDA DE LA9tULGAS, had been told that he could <br />hook up with sewer: He had torn up his patio and was now told that he would have to wait a month. <br />Associate Engineer Carozza was to contact Mr. Morris. <br />CLAIMS NOS. 1147 to 1260 inclusive, in the amount of $88,622.54 were approved for payment on motion of <br />Councilman Morgan, seconded by CouncilBritschgi and carried. <br />ADJOURNMENT. <br />RALPH". S.Dodge <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />Minutes of Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />September 6, 1949, 8:00 P.M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, Albert H.Morgan Jr., <br />Robt V. Spillers, A.V.Swift, Mayor W. M. 'Ierder and City Cleik Pro -Tem Richard D. Miller. Also present <br />were 'Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, City Collector P. E. Perrin, Building Inspector L.M. Duncan, <br />Assistant uuilding Inspector Stephen Kreiss, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, <br />City Attorney C. B. Currie, City tanager E. A.Rolison, Fire Inspector Richard Drivon, and Police <br />Sgt. Edwin Fogarty. Councilman Holmquist and City Clerk Dodge noted absent. <br />APPROVATT/OF MINUTES AS MAIIED. Minutes of the regular meeting of August 15th were approved as mailed on <br />motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />MR. RAY WEYMOUTH, APPOINTEE TO PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION RECEIVED oath of office administered by City <br />Clerk Pro -Tem Richard Miller. Mayor Werder expressed appreciation to have him serve on the commission. <br />APPLICATION FOR DANCE PERMIT, ROBERT A SCOBEY JR., dances to be held at now vacant warehouse on 1000 block, <br />Broadway. He would install suitable restrooms and other facilities in compliance with local ordinances <br />and State laws. As the application was in letter form and Mr.Scobey was present he was instructed <br />to re -apply in proper form as it was necessary for premises to be inspected and approved by the <br />Building, Health, Fire and Police Departments. Councilman Spillers so moved that this be referred <br />to Mr.Scobey for a report back, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />LENOLT TRACT IMPROVEMENTS. MRS. THOMAS STALEY appeared in regard to delay on these improvements. After <br />considerable discussion explanations were made that previous petitions had not been sufficient and <br />that legal procedure took some time and the resolution of preliminary determination was the first <br />step in legal proceedings; plans were prepared and in the Engineer's office as of this last week;; <br />work would be started between the middle and end of November, or as late as December; the work had <br />been farmed out to a private engineer and the plans had been completed in a reasonable length of <br />time as this was a large project and it would have taken several months to have completed plans in <br />the City Lngineer's office without hiring several extra draftsmen; the first step could not be <br />taken until the plans had been completed. To save one week's time, City Attorney stated the public <br />hearing could be moved forward one week. Councilman Opillers offered resolution and moved adoption <br />
