Smith in the amount of $120,500.52. This was 13% under the Engineering Department's estimate. Councilman Spillers moved recommendation of City Engineer Jain's be accepted, see- onded by Councilman Swift and carried. RESOLUTION No. 808 AWARDING CONTRACT TO L. C. SMITH FOR LENOLT'TRACT IMPROVEMENTS'IN AMOUNT OF $120,500.52 was offered and moved for adoption on motion of Councilman Granger and seconded by Councilman Spiliers. City Attorney stated contract could be signed any time between the 10 days after first publication of notice of award of contract to 25 days after first publication of notice of award of contract. Motion carried on roll call. Councilman Morgan noted absent. , RESOLUTION No. 808 RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACT LENOLT WHEREAS the Council of the City of.Redwood City did, in open session, on November,21, 1949, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing all the work and making all the improvements described in Resolution of Intention No. 799 of said Council, passed and adopted by said Council on,October -31,,:1949., to which resolution reference is hereby made for further particulars; BE IT RESOLVED that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejects all said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the 'contract for doing said work and making said improvements to the lowesty.regular responsible bidder, to wit: L. C. SMITH COMPANY, a corporation, at the prices named in its bid, to which bid reference is hereby made for further particulars. The' City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a ]notice of this award in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily newspaper (except Sunday), published, printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose by the Council of said City. Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 21st day of November, 1949, by the following vote: AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST$ SPILLERS, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER.
