0 <br />356 <br />INTRODUCTION AMENDMENT TO SALARY ORDINANCE, SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS, $1.00 per hour, was <br />offered by Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />PETITION FOR SIDEWALKS ON HOPKINS AVENUE BETWEEN ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS AND CIRCLE ROAD. <br />City Engineer Jain stated this represented 1000 of property owners and was presented <br />to the Council on November 4th. It was recommended that this project be combined <br />with the sidewalk improvements which were petitioned on Alameda de las Pulgas <br />between Whipple Avenue and Hopkins Avenue. He asked to be authorized to prepare <br />plans and specifications and that funds be advanced from General Fund, subject to <br />reimbursement from assessment district. Councilman Granger moved that City Engineer <br />Jain be authorized to prepare plans and specifications, seconded by Councilman Swift <br />and carried. <br />EXTENSION OF HOPKINS FROM NEVADA TO THE ALAMEDA was suggested by Councilman Britschgi <br />as this becomes a one way street when cars were parked on both sides of the street. <br />It was agreed that the lines would have to be set back in the future. One owner <br />was prepared to put in sidewalk at this time. Councilman Granger moved that City <br />Engineer make a survey of this area and bring back a report, seconded by Councilman <br />Britschgi and carried. <br />STANDARD IRON & METAL YARD, 1230 MARKET STREET, SAN FRANCISCO SUBMITTED A LETTER SIGNED <br />BY ABE CRANOW, FOR JUNK DEALER'S PERMIT. Permit denied on motion of Councilman <br />Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />CITY COLLECTOR PERRIN STATED A LETTER HAD BEEN RECEIVED FROM MR. MAC ARTHUR, COUNTY <br />COLLECTOR IN REGARDS TO THE PURCHASE OF TAX DELINQUEIQT Lot 23, Clock 6, Redwood Villa <br />Park on Madrone and Mc Evoy. County tax was $84.00, City tax $65.10 against the <br />property. Street work in the amount of 0609.29 had been paid by the City. Coun- <br />cilman Granger moved that proper authorities be authorized to clear up County taxes <br />City to hold property for future development as it satyr fit, possibly for recreational <br />center, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN SWIFT STATED THAT 755 E1 Camino Real, owned by Sodini, had been posted for <br />Liquor License. As the Council and Sequoia High School had protested reissuance <br />of liquor license at this location and voted that it be denied, it was moved by <br />Councilman Granger that City Attorney Currie take immediate steps at Council's <br />request and notify the Board of Equalization again of their protest and that of the <br />High School, seconded by Councilman Swift and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED FOR REPORT ON TRAFFIC PROBLEM AT THE S.P. DEPOT between 5 and <br />6 P.M. City Manager Rolison and Chief Wood stated this had been corrected and was <br />again being policed. It was not known to the department that there was no control <br />for a short period'of time, but it had occurred when the new men replaced the <br />regular officers. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER STATED THAT COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST ASKED FOR REPORT ON SEWAGE FRO14 <br />EMERALD LAKE SEPTIC TAITS BEING DUMPED INTO BAYSHORE INTERCEPTOR LINES. City <br />Manager Rolison explained that the County paid for their percentage of the <br />sewage treated at the plant. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER SUGGESTED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS BE PREPARED FOR LAUREL STREET <br />IMPROVEMENTS and moved that City Attorney Currie be authorized to start legal <br />proceedings for this improvement, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER THOUGIiT TREE IN CIRCLE AT ARCH, BREWSTER AND BROADWAY SHOULD BE <br />
