She was..to <br />contact Mr. Jain on this. <br />I <br />REPORT OF SWIMMING POOL COMMITTEE. Councilman Spillers, chairman, asked that the City <br />Clerk read their report. After investigations of swimming pools in surrounding <br />territory the committee composed of City Engineer Jain, Councilman Granger, Co-chair- <br />man, Recreation Commissioner Donald Bogie, Recreation Director Red Mprton, Health <br />Inspector Fred Bailey and Councilman Spillers, chairman, every effort had been made <br />to bring to the citizens of Redwood City another recreational facility of which they <br />would be proud. A semi-final meeting was held Wednesday, November 30th, when City <br />Engineer Jain appointed Mr. L. F. Richards, Santa Clara architect, to draw plans and <br />specifications for the swimming pool. Final meeting would be held Friday, December <br />L!� . 9th, when Mr. Richards would bring in preliminary plans for 421 x 75' swimming pool <br />(31 to 6' deep) and 30' x 40' wading pool (181 to 30" deep), along with the shower <br />and dressing room facilities which would fit the budget of $65,000. Councilman <br />Spillers moved that City Manager Rolison be authorized to sign contract with Mr, <br />Richards subject to approval of City Engineer Jain to present drawings of plans and <br />specifications, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. Mayor Werder compli- <br />mented the committee on their work. <br />
