E <br />removal of manhole from sidewalk on Jefferson in front of Annie Offermann's property3 6 <br />and asked if the Council would release easement across Harbor Boulevard as they would <br />like to bring in some extra service to take care of the City. On motion of Councilman <br />Granger,, seconded by Councilman Morgan and unanimously carribd,.signing of the agree= <br />ment was authorized. <br />STREET LIGHTS ON JOHNSON. Chief -Lodi reported there was a need for lights on Johnson to <br />Vera. Some streets were not improved and about 4. or,5 blocks were in need of lights.' <br />Equipment would have to be transferred and they would not be able to get to it until <br />Spring because of other priorities. Councilman Britschgi moved that as the other <br />projects were finished that the Fire Chief be instructed to make a survey of this area <br />and do the work in its turn, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATIONS IN CIRCLE, ARCH, BREI`JSTER AND BROADWAY. Fire Chief Lodi reported <br />that he had contacted the High School in regard to decorating the tree but they had <br />some decorating problems of their own and declined. With their heavy work load he did <br />not feel there was time to replace equipment taken and relighting the tree after fuses <br />were twisted so half the lights were off when there were more important things to do <br />in their Fire Department. Councilman Britschgi moved acceptance of recommendation of <br />Chief Lodi, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />AWARD OF BID ON STREET NAMES SIGNS. They planned to use the large detachable numbers on <br />major streets and the attached numbers on minor streets. This type of sign would. -also <br />be identical with the ones already installed on El Camino and Broadway. A written - <br />20 year guarantee would be given against fading, tarnishing, etc. Councilman Morgan <br />moved approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />AWARD OF BID, ROCK FILL FOR ANIMAL SHELTER, S <br />STREET, approximately 2330 cubic <br />yards.
