Doolittle 22559.00 <br />Building Inspector Duncan recommended award of bid to Mr. Martin Fried, 1074 Sanchez <br />Street, San Francisco, low bid of $2,212.00. There would some additional cost for <br />rent on scaffolding, furnished by the contractor installing gutters. Bid was about <br />30;o below estimate. City Manager Rolison concurred in recommendation. Councilman <br />Spillers moved acceptance of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />REQUEST FOR WATER SERVICE, W. T. CHAPPLE, 1012 El Camino Real, owner of Lot 13, Block 13, <br />Highlands of Emerald Lake. Mr. Chapple requested an extension of 100 ft. of present <br />water line now ending at intersection of Midfield Way and Altamont 4"Jay, Water <br />Superintendent Winter was called upon for his opinion. He stated that others had <br />been turned down on their request and if this was granted, other requests would have <br />to be considered and he didn't think the line could stand any more and he recommended <br />denial of request. Councilman Britschgi moved approval of recommendation, seconded <br />by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />L. C. SMITH REQUESTED A TIME EXTENSION ON INSTALLATION OF IMPROVEMENTS, EAGLE HILL ALLEYS <br />AND VIRGINIA AVENUE. City Engineer Jain state the time limit had already expired <br />on these projects and that the penalty should be in force less two days for rain. <br />He further stated that Stanley -Westgate was a larger job on which he had 90 days <br />and there were 30 days to go and that he was trying to do the three jobs with one <br />crew instead of having a crew on each job. The jobs were set up early enough to <br />have been through by this time. Councilman Britschgi moved that Mr. Smith be noti- <br />fied that the penalty applied as provided in the agreement on both Eagle Hill Alleys <br />and Virginia Avenue, with two days credit given for rain, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. <br />RESOLUTION 809. KENSINGTON SQUARE ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM was recommended for acceptance by <br />City Engineer Jain. Councilman Britschgi offered resolution and moved adoption, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried on roll call. <br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 N No. 809 <br />APPROVING ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM <br />KENSINGTON SQUARE <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City did, on May 23, 19492 pass <br />and adopt a resolution, No. 715, ordering certain work and improvements, said work <br />and improvements being described and set out in Resolution of Intention No. 707 <br />of said Council, passed and adopted on May 2, 1949, said resolutions both being <br />on file in the office of the Clerk of the City of Redwood City and to which <br />resolutions reference is hereby made for further particulars; and <br />WHEREAS said Resolution No. 715 directed the City Engineer of Redwood City <br />to make and sign the assessments to be made for the work and improvements to be <br />done under said Resolution of Intention No. 707; and <br />WHEREAS the City Engineer of the City of Redwood City has prepared and pre- <br />sented for the approval of the Council of the City of Redwood City a diagram of <br />the property affected or benefited by the work and improvements described in said <br />Resolution of Intention No. 707 and to be assessed to pay the expenses thereof, <br />said diagram showing each separate lot, piece or parcel of land and the dimensions <br />of each such lot, piece or parcel of land and the relative location of the same to <br />the work proposed to be done, all within the•limits of the assessment district h <br />set out in said Resolution of Intention No. 707; <br />0 <br />
