<br />DECLARING PREMISES AT 1146 MAIN STREET A NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR
<br />ABATEMENT WITHIN THIRTY DAYS I

<br />WHEREAS L. Id. Duncan,•the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City, did,
<br />as requir6d by Ordinance No. 303, post a notice to abate nuisance upon. the real prop- a
<br />erty'situated in said City, County of San Mateo, State of California, and particularly
<br />described as follows:
<br />That certain store building located on that property commonly known and referred
<br />to as 1416 Main Street, Redwood City, California, and being Lot 3, Block 5,
<br />Hancock Addition;
<br />and did send a copy of said notice so posted, by registered mail, postage prepaid, to
<br />the owners of said real property, as said owners are listed upon the books of the
<br />City Assessor of said City of Redwood City, to wit: Lorraine Michel, et al, Apart-
<br />ment 203, 1808 Pacific Avenue, San Francisco 23, California; and
<br />WHEREAS in and by said notice to abate nuisance said Building Inspector of the
<br />City of Redwood City did fix Monday, October 17, 1949, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m.
<br />of said day, at the Council Chamber- in the City Hall on Middlefield Road in said City
<br />of Redwood City, as the time and place when the owners of the buildings situated upon
<br />said real property could appear and be heard and show cause why said buildings should
<br />not be condemned as a public nuisance and abated by reconstructing or properly repair-
<br />ing said buildings or by razing or removing "the same, and
<br />WHEREAS said hearing was duly and regularly continued until December 19, 1949;
<br />and

<br />WHEREAS said Council did proceed with said hearing on December 19, 1949, and
<br />after considering all objections made and received,'does determine that due and
<br />legal notice of said hearing was given as required by the ordinances of the City of
<br />Redwood City, as appears from the affidavit of L. IcI. DUNCAN on file in the office of
<br />r
<br />the City Clerk;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, and
<br />said Council does hereby declare; that the buildings or structures situated upon the
<br />;
<br />real property hereinabove described are a public nuisance, and does hereby direct
<br />a
<br />the owners thereof to abate said nuisance within thirty days from the adoption of
<br />;
<br />this resolution, by having said building razed or removed; and if said buildings aro
<br />n
<br />not so abated by said owners, the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City is
<br />hereby ordered and directed to raze or remove said building; and that the expenses

<br />thereof be made a lien on the lot or parcel of land from which said building or
<br />;
<br />stpucture is removed; and which is hereinabove described.

<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular
<br />meeting thereof, held on the 19th day of December, 1949, by the following vote:
<br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution,
<br />Councilmen: GRANGER, MORGAN, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER.
<br />NOES, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI and HOLMQUIST.
