<br />REGULATION OF'"TRAFFIC SOUTHERN PACIFIC DEPOT. City Attorney Currie stated the Southern
<br />11 Pacific Company contended that the City had nothing to do with the Commuter Lot
<br />parking at the depot, and he had prepared an ordinance to release jurisdiction on.
<br />that area. However, he thought they would later recommend that the City enter into
<br />an agreement in the course of time in regard to this. Councilman Spillers offered
<br />introduction of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Holmquist. Councilman Morgan
<br />thought there was no hurry on this and suggested it be put over until the next
<br />meeting. Administrative Assistant Miller stated t#at the Traffic Fact Finding'
<br />Committee had presented this to the Commuters Club about six months ago. On roll
<br />call the motion was defeated Councilmen Granger, Morgan, Swift and Werder voting No.
<br />Carried on the agenda for further study.

<br />man Britschgi offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded.by Councilman Spillers

<br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 N No. 827.
<br />RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION
<br />ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS ARID HOPKINS AVENUE
<br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, that it does hereby
<br />preliminarily determine that the public convenience and necessity require, and that
<br />it intends to order, the following work to be done and improvements to be made in
<br />and for said City, to wit:
<br />(a) The improvement of Alameda de las Pulgas by constructing and installing
<br />thereon four inch (4.11) concrete sidewalks, five feet (51) in width, on the easterly
<br />side thereof from the intersection of Alameda de las Pulgas with Whipple Avenue to
<br />the southerly line of Lot eleven (11), Block seven (7) Oak Knoll Manor, and on the
<br />westerly side thereof from the intersection of Alameda de las Pulgas with Pdhipple
<br />Avenue to the intersection of Alameda de las Pulgas with Hopkins Avenue; by con-
<br />structing and installing therein on both sides thereof from the intersection of
<br />Alameda de las Pulgas with Whipple Avenue to the intersection of, Alameda de las aw,�
<br />Pulgas with Hopkins Avenue of concrete driveway approaches to serve existing houses
<br />and residences,; provided, however, that no sidewalks or driveways shall be construc-
<br />ted or installed where existing sidewalks and driveways iiieet the established line
<br />and grade.
<br />(b) The improvement,of the northerly side of Hopkins Avenue by constructing
<br />and installing thereon four inch (4") concrete sidewalks, five feet (5') in width,
<br />including driveway approaches to serve existing hoiises and residences from the
<br />intersection of Hopkins Avenue with Alameda de las Pulgas to the intersection of
<br />Hopkins Avenue with Circle Road; provided, however, that no sidewalks or driveway
<br />approaches shall be installed where existing sidewalks and driveways meet the
<br />established line and grade.
<br />(c) The construction and installation of all necessary appurtenances to
<br />complete the work described under (a) and (b) hereof.
<br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places and in
<br />the manner, and to the lines, grades and elevations, as shown upon the plans,
<br />profiles and specifications made therefor and on file in the office of the City
<br />Engineer of Redwood City.
<br />Said contemplated work and improvement, in the opinion of said City Council,
<br />is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said Council does hereby -
<br />make the cost and expenses of doing such work and improvement chargeable upon a
<br />{ District, which District said City Council declares to be the District benefited �U
<br />by said work and improvement and to be assessed to pay the entire cost and
<br />j expenses thereof, and which said Assessment District is wholly within the limits
<br />of said City of Redwood City, State of California, and is described as follows:
<br />Said district being a portion of Oak Knoll Manor, San Mateo County,
<br />California, recorded L4ay 10, 1916 in Vol 10 at pages 4. to 11, inclusive,
<br />records of San Mateo County, the bearings of which are the.basis of this
<br />description. Said area comprises Lots 9 to 11, inclusive, of Block 7,
<br />and Lot 1 to 5, inclusive, and Lot 8 of Block 12, all being more particu-
<br />larly described as follows:
<br />BEGINNING at the intersection of the center line of Whipple Avenue,
<br />66.00 feet in width, with the Northeasterly line of Lot 8 extended North-
<br />westerly to said center line; THENCE S 41.0 101 E along the rear of Lot 8 and
<br />I portion of 9,21!.0.33 feet; THENCE S 290 10' E along the rear of Lot 92 10,
<br />and 11, 307.68 feet to the Southeasterly corner of Lot 11; THENCE S 1H00 611
<br />30" W along the Southeasterly line of Lot 11, and extension of same, 185.00
<br />feet, more or less, to the center of Alameda de las Pulgas, 50.00 feet in
<br />width; THENCE with said center line along a curbeato the right with_a inter-
