M. was made by I <br />I I <br />Chairman Richard J. Dolwig, in a letter. The purpose of.the meeting was to consider <br />Iq <br />(1) Phase I of Committees Plan relative to the Bay Bridge, (2) Grade separation <br />crossings (3) Completion of the Bayshore Freeway in San Mateo County. The letter k <br />requested 9 copies of any presentation to the Secretary of the Committee just prior I <br />to the meeting. A report on grade crossings had been referred to City Engineer Jain <br />at the last meeting, but he stated there was no report to be made that it was merely <br />a statement of opinions. Bids were to be opened on the swimming pool on that date <br />st <br />and City Engineer Jain could not attend this meeting, but it was decided to have <br />someone from his office attend. This was placed on the agenda. a. <br />DANCE PERMIT. COLORED LODGE OF ELKS asked for a permit to hold dances for members and <br />F <br />guests at 46 willow Street. The bar is separate from the dancing. Capt. Douglas <br />stated the place had been inspected and their department approved. Councilman <br />Spillers moved approval, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />PLANNING C0TR,,.ICCION RECOMMENDED DENIAL, MINA STIEDEWIANN TO RESUBDIVIDE PORTIONS OF Lots <br />4, 5, 6, and 5. feet of Lot A into two parcels. Both lots would be below minimum <br />frontage and below the required area of 6000 sq. ft. Councilman P+Iorgan moved <br />acceptance of Planning Commission recommendation, seconded by Councilman Spillers , <br />and carried. <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY CALIFORNIA ASSEMBLY APRIL 11th was submitted by Chief Clerk Arthur <br />A. Ohnimus relative to desirability and feasibility of separation of grade crossings <br />in San Mateo County and other counties. Pertaining to Redwood City, appropriate <br />officials were to initiate proceedings for separation of grades at one of the sev- <br />eral streets in the vicinity of Southern Pacific Depot, not late than January 15, <br />1951. Officials of the Southern Pacific Company, Union Pacific Company and Public <br />Utilities Commission were to initiate proceedings for same. As there were no <br />objections Mayor Britschgi referred this to City Engineer Jain for his report later. <br />DANCE PERMIT REQUESTED BY THOMAS BARTOL, 931 Grand Street, to hold open air dance at <br />Five Points, opening of Gas Station.
