Councilman Werder <br />offered resolution of intention and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers, and carried on roll call. <br />R E S O L U T I O N No. 858. <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br />POPLAR, VIRGINIA AND JUNIPERO AVENUES. <br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that the public <br />convenience and necessity require, and that it intends to order in accordance <br />with the procedure set out in Article I of Ordinance No. 333 of said City, <br />adopted March 14., 1932, as amended, the following work to be done and improve- <br />ments to be made in and for said City, to wit: <br />(a) The improvement of Poplar Avenue by constructing and installing <br />therein 2" asphaltic concrete paving with 6" crusher run rock base 31' <br />in width, standard concrete curbs, gutters and 51 width concrete side- <br />walks on both sides thereof, for its entire length from its intersection <br />with the westerly line of that tract of land in Redwood City known as <br />Portol'a.Additiah to.its intersection with Junipero Avenue. <br />(b) The improvement of Virginia Avenue the same as for Poplar Ave- <br />nue in (a) above from its intersection with Poplar Avenue to its inter- <br />section with'Redwood Avenue. <br />(c) The improvement of Junipero Avenue the same as for Poplar Ave- <br />nue in (a) above from its intersection with Poplar Avenue to its inter- <br />section with Redwood Avenue, provided however that the complete intersec- <br />tion of Junipero Avenue and Redwood Avenue shall be improved with <br />asphaltic concrete paving and concrete curbs, gutters and standard con- <br />crete sidewalks shall be constructed at the northerly corners of said <br />intersection. <br />(d) The construction and installation of two (2) 15" reinforced <br />concrete pipe siphons across Virginia Avenue at its intersection with <br />Poplar Avenue connected with a standard concrete catch basin to be <br />constructed at each end of said siphons; the construction and installation <br />of a 15" reinforced concrete pipe storm drain across the intersection of <br />Poplar and Junipero Avenues connected with a standard concrete catch <br />basin to be constructed at each end of said storm drain; the construction <br />and installation of a 15" reinforced concrete pipe storm drain connected <br />with aforementioned catch basin to be constructed on the Easterly side of <br />Junipero Avenue at its intersection with Poplar Avenue, extending approx- <br />imately 82' in an easterly direction from said catch basin in a 5t ease- <br />ment along and contiguoVs to the northerly line of Lot 16, Block 3, <br />Portola Addition connected to a 15" corrugated metal pipe appoximately <br />20' in length to be installed in said easement. <br />(e) The construction of a 15" reinforced concrete pipe siphon across <br />Junipero Avenue at Redwood Avenue connected with a standard concrete catch <br />basin to be constructed at either end thereof. <br />(f) The construction and installation of all necessary appurtenances <br />to complete the work, described in (a) to (e) inclusive <br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places, in the <br />
