A petition requested that 14 J King Construction Company be asked <br />to repair the surface of Hampton Avenue to its original condition upon completion of <br />the development work. The petition was signed by representatives of Hampton Avenue; <br />B. O'Connell, 1758, M. T. Me Coy, 1757, and R. E. Burner, 1749 Hampton Avenue. Mr. <br />Me Coy appeared and stated the paving was beginning to break. Mr. B. I Lusk, Vice <br />President of M. J. King Company appeared and was not aware of another street but said <br />they would direct their trucks, etc. down this street. City Engineer Jain stated this <br />street had been scraped off on Monday, April 21�th. Councilman Granger moved that <br />proper authorities be instructed to prepare suitable sign or signs indicating direction <br />of traffic onto the proper street, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF USE PERMIT FOR USED CAR LOT BY CLARKSON <br />MOTORS, PORTION OF LOT 18, Villa Lots, Mezesvill e, E1 Camino Real off East Hopkins. <br />They were moving the business from one location to another, the construction of <br />buildings would be started in the near future. Councilman Spillers moved that the <br />use permit be granted with the understanding that this was not to be an additional <br />used car lot but a transfer from the first location, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, <br />and carried. <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION HAD <br />DENIAL OF MR. AND MRS T. W. STEWART TO REZONE Lot <br />22, Block 5, Robinson Eagle Hill, on March 27th. Attorney Wm F. Worthington, Jr. <br />submitted a letter asking the City Council to review the -petition and hear .the <br />arguments and that a date be set for hearing. Councilman Werder moved the hearing <br />be set for the next regular meeting, May 15th, people in immediate area to be notified, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist and carried. <br />STA14LEY 111. TAYLOR, PRESIDENT OF OWNERS OF BUILDING AND IMPROVEMENT COMPANY, SUBMITTED A <br />REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION OF ABOUT 56-1/2 acres contiguous with Redwood City, bounded <br />on the north by Jefferson Avenue, on the east by the lands of Bianchi and on the <br />southeast by the City Limits. They were planning to construct 150 quality homes with <br />extablishment of community service center, children's playground, recreational areas <br />and a security area. It was thought by them to be advantageous to the City providing <br />provisions be made to serve the area with sewer and water facilities. The writer <br />wished to appear before the Council or committee of the Council and go into the <br />matter in detail. Discussion brought out that this tract was above the water tank <br />and Mr. Taylor would have to pump up for their own storage and according to City <br />Engineer Jain sewage lines were loaded and something would have to be done soon in <br />order to get sewage.down to plant. Councilman Werder moved that this be put forth <br />pending a report from City Engineer Jain at the next meeting, seconded by Colzncilman <br />Spillers. Mr. Jain had talked to Mr. Taylor about this a year ago but not since. <br />Motion carried. <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF MRS. H. WEBER, TO RESUBDIVIDE A PORTION OF <br />LOT 6, Valota Park, 1689 Valota Road, into two lots with the provision that applicant <br />furnish evidence that she will continue the lot line straight through to the rear line <br />straight through to the rear line of the adjoining lot. Councilman Granger moved <br />recommendation be accepted, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL OF AL ANDERSON, TO RESUBDIVIDE LOT 3, Block A, <br />Woodside Acres into L� lots subject to conditions that rear 202 feet of Lot 3 be put <br />in escrow with the understanding that if the City so desired, this property would be <br />0 <br />
