Martinelli, San Bruno. Notice was received from <br />the State Board of Equalization of the request for this transfer. There was no <br />license formerly on these premises. City Attorney Jain stated the Sequoia High <br />School Board had filed a letter with the State Board of Equalization protesting <br />this license. Councilman Granger moved that if such was the case the Council <br />should support the High School Board, City Clerk Dodge was to check on this, <br />seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED THE COUNCIL ADOPT AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING <br />A 2 -way stop, stopping traffic on Redwood Avenue at Valota Road. Burlingame F-3 81526.99 <br />Although bids for Ford 6 were less for both models, past experience in trade-in <br />value, upkeep and operational expense and recommendation of Shop Department in- <br />dicated that the International, trucks would be the most economical purchase. The <br />bid of Swenson Sales & Service for both 1/2 ton and 1 ton pick-up trucks were <br />recommended by City Engineer Jain and concurred in by City Manager Rolison: Coun- <br />cilman Spillers moved that the recommendation be accepted, seconded by Councilman <br />Royer. Question of specifications called for was brought up but if too many <br />specifications were called for this would eliminate potential bidders. Motion <br />carried. Meeting with dealers was suggested by Councilman Granger and thought <br />they should be warned that the City wanted their recommendations and he moved that <br />a communication be sent to the Automobile Dealers Association on these points <br />coming up from time to time and that they contact the City Manager's office for <br />drawing up suitable specifications. AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT CuITH THE <br />SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY REGARDING ROSE FENCE ALONG THE EL CAMINO REAL. Council- <br />man Granger offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Werder <br />and carried on roll call. Councilman Morgan noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 866 <br />AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN <br />PACIFIC COMPANY REGARDING ROSE FENCE. <br />RESOLVED by the Council of Redwood City as follows: <br />1. That that certain agreement presented to the Council of Redwood City <br />regarding the maintenance of certain wire fencing upon and along the property of <br />the Southern Pacific Company in the City of Redwood City, be and the same is <br />hereby approved. Said agreement supplements a previous agreement dated September <br />30,1938, between the City of Redaood City and the Southern Pacific Company <br />relating to the same matter. <br />2.
