J <br />I <br />I hereby approve the foregoing Resolution <br />this 9th day of November, 1948. <br />11. M. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />RESOLUTION No.629 Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to sign deed to State of <br />California was offered for adoption on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded <br />by Councilman Holmquist. Under the question, Councilman Granger questioned <br />whether or not the authorization to execute deed was based upon the original <br />bid. City Attorney Currie assured him that it was. Motion carried on roll call-, <br />R E S O L U T I O N No. 629 <br />AUTHORIZING SALE OF PROPERTY TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF AN ARMORY FOR THE NATIONAL GUARD <br />WHEREAS the real property hereinafter described has heretofore been <br />appraised by a competent appraiser appointed by the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City, and public notice of the sale of said property containing a legal descrip- <br />tion thereof has been duly given for at least two weeks in the Redwood. City. <br />Tribune, a newspaper published daily except Sunday in the City of Redwood City, <br />as appears from the Affidavit of Publication now on file with the City Clerk; and <br />WHEREAS C. D. O'SULLIVAN, Adjutant General on behalf of the State of Calif- <br />ornia, has made a written bid for theurchase of said property and has offered <br />therein to pay the sum of One Dollar ($1.00) and other valuable consideration, <br />which bid is the highest and best bid for said property in accordance with said <br />Notice of Sale thereof; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said bid os said C. D. O'Sullivan, <br />Adjutant General on behalf of the State.of California, to purchase said property <br />for the slim of One Dollar ($1.00) and other valuable consideration, be,and the <br />same is hereby accepted and said property is hereby sold to.the State of Calif- <br />ornia for said sum; <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that said property is sold subject to the following con- <br />dition: that.the State will commence construction of a State Armory on the <br />premises within three (3) years from the date hereof, and will thereafter prose- <br />cute such construction to completion with due diligence. Upon failure to so <br />commence the construction of such State Armory, title shall revert to the <br />grantor. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Redwood City <br />be and they are hereby authorized to execute a deed to said property ori behalf <br />of the City of Redwood City. <br />The real property herein sold is described as follows: <br />All that certain real property situated in the City of Redwood City, County of <br />San Mateo, State of California, more particularly described as follows: <br />PARCEL 1: <br />A portion of Lot numbered twenty-one (21) as shown on that certain map entitled <br />"Wooster, Whitton and Montgomery's Subdivision of a part of the Redwood Farm", <br />which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on <br />July 9,•1902.in Book "E" of Original Maps at page 31 and copied into Book 3 of <br />Maps at page 10, described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at a point on the Southwesterly boundary of said Lot 21, distant. <br />thereon 150 feet Northwesterly from the Northwesterly line of Roosevelt Avenue; <br />thence from said point of beginning Northwesterly along said Southwesterly <br />boundary 263.5 feet thence Northeasterly parallel with said line of Roosevelt <br />Avenue 277.7 feet to the Northeasterly boundary of said Lot 21; thence South- <br />easterly along said Northeasterly boundary 263.5 feet; thence Southwesterly <br />parallel with said line of Roosevelt Avenue 277.7 feet to the point of beginning. �=• <br />CONTAINING 1.69 acres, more or less. <br />PARCEL 2. <br />An easement for ingress and egress over and upon a portion of Lot numbered <br />twenty-one (21) as shown on that certain map entitled "Wooster, Whitton and <br />Montgomery's Subdivision of a.,part of the Redwood Farm", which map was filed in <br />the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on July 9, 1902 in Book U <br />"E" of Original Maps at page 31 and copied in Book 3 of Maps at page 10, described <br />as follows: <br />BEGINNING at a point on the Southwesterly boundary of said Lot 21, distant there- <br />on 413.50 feet Northwesterly from the Northwesterly line of Roosevelt Avenue; <br />thence from said point of beginning Vorthwesterly along said Southwesterly <br />boundary 100 feet; thence Northeasterly parallel with said line of Roosevelt <br />Avenue 277.7 feet to the Northeasterly boundary of said Lot 21; thence South- <br />easterly along said Northeasterly boundary 100 feet; thence Southwesterly parallel <br />with said line of Roosevelt Avenue 277.7 feet to the point of beginning. <br />PARCEL 3: <br />An easement for ingress and egress over and upon Lot numbered five (5) in Block <br />
