WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />COUNCIL14AN MORGAN ASKED THAT CLAIMS 4597, 4595 and 4956 of purchases made outside the <br />LOW <br />City be checked to see if they could not have been made in Redwood City, City Mana- <br />ger Rolison stated thpLt according to the Charter, purchases were made within the <br />City price and quality being equal and this practice was followed as closely as it <br />was possible. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER•REFERRED TO A MAIN STREET LOT where the building had been removed, but <br />the lot had not been cleaned up. Building Inspector stated the owner had been con- <br />tacted in regard to this and had promised to correct this. .Councilman Granger moved <br />that the owner, Mrs. C. Graves be notified that if the lot was not cleaned up within <br />a reasonable time that proceedings would be started against him, seconded by Council <br />man Spillers, and carried. <br />COUNCIL14AN GRANGER ASKED IF SAFETY INSPECTOR HAD CHECKED CHRIST14AS LIGHTS ON SALE. Fire <br />Chief <br />Lodi stated <br />a survey was <br />being :Wade, <br />that it was <br />hard to get <br />all <br />and that a <br />notice <br />would be in <br />the papers <br />calling the <br />attention of <br />the public <br />not <br />to purchase <br />inferior lights. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON DEVELOPING PROGRAM FOR CEMETERY and moved this be referred <br />to the Park Superintendent for it report on such program covering $1500 each year for <br />the next five years, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST ASKED CITY MANAGER ROLISCN what had been done for Friendly Acres in <br />the way of street work and fire hydrants. City Engineer Jain stated that emergency <br />patching had been done•and a'little grading, that the general street patching had <br />stopped on September 15th because of lack of asphalt materials. The work had started <br />again and the*crew had reached Chestnut, Woodside and Charter Street, and that they <br />were almost out*of money allowed for this. Fire Chief Lodi stated fire hydrants had <br />been planned at certain points, but none were installed�ae there were no hydrants on <br />hand. Mr. Winters stated there were six hydrants at the Corporation Yard. It was <br />agreed that they should be insta lled subject to rental charge, and Councilman <br />Holmquist so moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN SPILLERS ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO LEAVE THE STATE. Granted on motion of Council- <br />man Morgan, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />RESOLUTION No. 642. This was for the expenditure of Gas Tax Funds on State Highway. It <br />was intended to spend this money on the Bayshore, but now it would be spent on Main <br />Street. Resolution offered by Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Granger, <br />
