Motion carried. <br />ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS ASSENZA PROPERTY. People still living in this house and final' <br />action placed on agenda for the first meeting in January. Councilman Granger <br />referred to a former ruling to the effect that when abatement, proceedings have <br />been brought against a residence that water meters should be removed when house <br />becomes vacant in order to prevent new tenants moving in. .After discussion along <br />E <br />these lines Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Morgan, that the pro- <br />per authorities be instructed to carry out this ruling. Motion carried. <br />CITY <br />MANAGER ROLISON REPORTED ON PURCHASE OF SUPPLIES outside the City as directed in <br />i <br />a previous meeting. In his communication he indicated three claims and outside <br />purchases totalling $365.12. The same articles locally according to quotations <br />would have cost $537.53 a saving having been effected in the amount of $172.71. <br />Councilman Morgan stated that he was pleased with the report as rendered and moved, <br />seconded by Councilman Swift, that report be accepted, and motion carried. <br />C,: I <br />CITY <br />MANAGER ROLISON REPORTED ON THE MEETING HELD BY THE FACT FINDING COMMITTEE at <br />� <br />which Councilmen Granger and Morgan and seven representatives of the Commuters <br />Club were present. There was a Feneral agreement on the following points and the <br />committee hereby presented them to the Council for their approval. <br />1. Move the bus stop line back 10 feet to allow greater visibility to cars <br />turning right. <br />�i <br />2. Raise the gutter and reconstruct the approach onto Broadway from the <br />Depot. <br />3. Restripe the California Street -James intersection so as to provide two <br />j <br />lanes of traffic moving off California to James en route to El Camino Real. <br />yJ <br />4. Recommend to the Southern Pacific that they stop their trains one car - <br />length farther south in order to keep the Broadway crossing clear. <br />5. Motion carried. <br />PERSONNEL RULES PUBLIC HEARING. The amendment to Personnel Rules regarding employment <br />of married women was ready for public hearing.
