COUNCILMAN GRANGER OFFERED RESOLUTION transferring $500 from Unbudgeted Reserve to the 85 <br />Painting Department to cover the cost of necessary signs to be installed. Upon being <br />placed on the recommendation of the Fact Finding Committee and of the Traffic.Safety <br />Commission, Councilman Granger withdrew his motion, feeling that the Fact Finding <br />Committee should recommend to the Traffic and Safety Commission and in turn recommen- <br />dation to the Council by the latter. After considerable d1scussion regarding this <br />, F situation Councilman Britschgi offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by <br />{ Councilman Holmquist. Councilman Granger indicated he would vote in favor of this <br />resolution with -the understanding that the misunderstanding be cleared up in the near <br />future. Motion carried on roll call, Councilman Spillers noted absent. On motion of <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, City Manager Rolison and <br />+ _I <br />Administrative Assistant were directed to make a study of the relationship between <br />the Fact Finding Committee and the Traffic Safety Commission and bring back a report <br />at the next meeting. Motion carried. <br />R .E S O L U T I O N No. 644 <br />TRANSFERRING $500.00 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO PAINTING DEPARTMENT - <br />SUPPLIES AND SERVICES FOR TRAFFICE SIGNS <br />i <br />1:J WHEREAS the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) is required for various <br />i <br />traffic signs throughout the City; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the sum of Five Hundred Dollars (0500.00) <br />is hereby ordered transferred from Unbudgeted Reserve to Painting Department -Supplies <br />and Services, Account No. 422.2, for traffic signs. <br />r <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Rqdwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 20th day of December, 1948, by the following vote: <br />j AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />Fro { <br />NOES Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: SPILLERS <br />W. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />CITY MANAGER ROLISON ADVISED that the League of California Cities had been contacted <br />regarding the condition of our water supply and expected a reply soon. The matter <br />was placed on the agenda. <br />i COST OF FENCE, BROADWAY NEAR GARDNER BUILDING. City Engineer Jain estimated approximate <br />r cost of $250 fbr the fence at the end of the bridge with a barricade to be erected in <br />front, Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Swift that the proper <br />authorities be instructed to complete the project. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION RECEIVED FROM WALTER E. RE101ERS regarding sidewalk at 926 Redwood Avenue <br />requesting that some agreement be reached relative to acceptance of same. City <br />Engineer Jain reported the condition of this sidewalk as not being up to atandard <br />grade being out of alignment and in many ways below City standard specifications. <br />{ Mr. Remmers stated that he had done everything possible to make corrections <br />
