01Ty ENGINEER REPORT ON EAGLE HILL ALLEYS AND RELEASE OF WARRANT. Mr. Jain reported <br />that he had gone over this in person with the contractor. A crack had been re- <br />surfaced, c33aning up of oil on building would be taken care of. Other cracks <br />caused by adobe ground could not be prevented. It was recommended that warrant be <br />released. Councilman Royer moved release of warrant, seconded by Councilman Herkner <br />and carried. <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE TRAVELLING BILLBOARD AND NOISE ORDINANCE. Committee was of the opin.- <br />ion that this should be discussed with the Council and was placed on agenda for the <br />following Monday night, August 14th. <br />ABATEMENT 235 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE OLD 2 -STORY DUELLING, LOTS 4 & 51 BLOCK 30 DILLER <br />ADDITION, MRS E CASKEY OF 52 COPLEY AVENUE. The building had been posted. Sworn <br />testimony of Assistant Building Inspector Stephen Kreiss was taken. The building <br />had no foundation, toted & sagging; floors at rear rotted & breaking through; all <br />floor out of level; rear steps rotted & falling apart; illegal wiring; brick chim- <br />iney cracked & dangerous; window sash broken & glass broken out; illegal valve on <br />gas heater; old sheds in rear dilapidated; in No 1 Fire Zone and could not be made <br />to comply. It was the reconmiendation of the Building and Fire Department that <br />building be demolished and lot cleared. <br />f RESOLUTION 928 ORDERING ABATE14ENT OF 235 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE WITHIN 30 DAYS. Councilman <br />Jones offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br />carried on roll call. Councilman morgan noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 928 <br />DECLARING PREMISES AT 235 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE <br />A NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR ABATEMENT WITHIN <br />THIRTY DAYS <br />WHEREAS L. M. DUNCAN, the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City, did <br />as required by Ordinance No. 303, post a notice to abate nuisance upon the real <br />property situated in said City, Couny of San Mateo, State of California, and par- <br />ticularly described as follows: <br />Lots 4 and 5. Block 3 <br />Diller Addition, commonly <br />known as 235 Pennsylvania Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California; <br />and did send a copy of said notice so posted, by registered mail, postage prepaid, <br />to the owners of said real property, as said owners are listed upon the books of the <br />City Assessor of said City of Redwood City, to wit: <br />Mrs. E. Caskey <br />52 Copley <br />Redwood City, California <br />WHEREAS in and by said notice to abate nuisance said Building Inspector of the <br />City of Redwood City did fix Monday, July 17, 1950, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m* <br />Of said day, in the Council Chamber at the City* Hall on Middlefield Road in said <br />City of Redwood Cit- as the time and place when the ownersof the buildings situated <br />upon said real property could appear and be heard and show cause why said buildings <br />should not be condemned as apublic nuisance and abated by reconstructing or properly <br />repairing said building or by razing or removing the sane; and <br />WHEREAS said hearing was continued until August 7, 19503 at 8:00 P.M.; and <br />WHEREAS said Council did proceed with said hearing on Monday, August 71 19509 <br />and after considering all objections made and received, does determine that due and <br />7ega1 notice of said hearing was given as reauired by the ordinances of the City of <br />Redwood City, as appears from the affidavit of L.
