01Ty ENGINEER REPORT ON EAGLE HILL ALLEYS AND RELEASE OF WARRANT. Mr. Jain reported that he had gone over this in person with the contractor. A crack had been re- surfaced, c33aning up of oil on building would be taken care of. Other cracks caused by adobe ground could not be prevented. It was recommended that warrant be released. Councilman Royer moved release of warrant, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. PROPOSED ORDINANCE TRAVELLING BILLBOARD AND NOISE ORDINANCE. Committee was of the opin.- ion that this should be discussed with the Council and was placed on agenda for the following Monday night, August 14th. ABATEMENT 235 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE OLD 2 -STORY DUELLING, LOTS 4 & 51 BLOCK 30 DILLER ADDITION, MRS E CASKEY OF 52 COPLEY AVENUE. The building had been posted. Sworn testimony of Assistant Building Inspector Stephen Kreiss was taken. The building had no foundation, toted & sagging; floors at rear rotted & breaking through; all floor out of level; rear steps rotted & falling apart; illegal wiring; brick chim- iney cracked & dangerous; window sash broken & glass broken out; illegal valve on gas heater; old sheds in rear dilapidated; in No 1 Fire Zone and could not be made to comply. It was the reconmiendation of the Building and Fire Department that building be demolished and lot cleared. f RESOLUTION 928 ORDERING ABATE14ENT OF 235 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE WITHIN 30 DAYS. Councilman Jones offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. Councilman morgan noted absent. RESOLUTION No. 928 DECLARING PREMISES AT 235 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE A NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR ABATEMENT WITHIN THIRTY DAYS WHEREAS L. M. DUNCAN, the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City, did as required by Ordinance No. 303, post a notice to abate nuisance upon the real property situated in said City, Couny of San Mateo, State of California, and par- ticularly described as follows: Lots 4 and 5. Block 3 Diller Addition, commonly known as 235 Pennsylvania Avenue, Redwood City, California; and did send a copy of said notice so posted, by registered mail, postage prepaid, to the owners of said real property, as said owners are listed upon the books of the City Assessor of said City of Redwood City, to wit: Mrs. E. Caskey 52 Copley Redwood City, California WHEREAS in and by said notice to abate nuisance said Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City did fix Monday, July 17, 1950, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m* Of said day, in the Council Chamber at the City* Hall on Middlefield Road in said City of Redwood Cit- as the time and place when the ownersof the buildings situated upon said real property could appear and be heard and show cause why said buildings should not be condemned as apublic nuisance and abated by reconstructing or properly repairing said building or by razing or removing the sane; and WHEREAS said hearing was continued until August 7, 19503 at 8:00 P.M.; and WHEREAS said Council did proceed with said hearing on Monday, August 71 19509 and after considering all objections made and received, does determine that due and 7ega1 notice of said hearing was given as reauired by the ordinances of the City of Redwood City, as appears from the affidavit of L.
