RESOLUTION No. 935 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED;",OOD CITY APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE OF STATE HIGHViAY IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY WHEREAS, the State of California, through its Department of Public Works, Division of Highway s, has presented an Agreement for Maintenance of the State High- way in the City of Redwood City effective as of July 1, 1950, and to remain in effect until amended or terminated. WHEREAS, the City Council has heard read said agreement in full and is famil- iar with the contents thereof; THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that said Agreement for Maintenance of the State Highway in the City is hereby approved and the Mayor and the City Clerk are directed to sign the same on behalf of said City. Pettion was submitted requesting con- sideration in finding ways and means of )aying the existing overtime pay due them. They felt that under the civil service rules governing the employees of the City that the City was required to cle ar all overtime either by time off or by payment in cash at the end of each 90 -day period and they asked that a ruling be secured from the City Attorney as to the City's responsibility in clearing up the existing accumulated overtime. They felt the only solution was payment in cash. The peti- tion was signed by 25 members of the department. Councilman Granger moved that this Problem be referred to a joint committee for study to work out a portion of the over- time payment. Mayor Britschgi appointed Councilman Granger, Chairman, Royer, Sgt. Idoudakas, Lt. Faulstich from the Police Department, Fireman McSherry and Assistant Fire Chief Leslie to meet with the City Manager. Councilman Spillers inquired of City Attorney if the demand was made to pay if the City was obligated to pay in full.
