Councilman Morgan noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 935 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RED;",OOD CITY <br />APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR MAINTENANCE <br />OF <br />STATE HIGHViAY IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />WHEREAS, the State of California, through its Department of Public Works, <br />Division of Highway s, has presented an Agreement for Maintenance of the State High- <br />way in the City of Redwood City effective as of July 1, 1950, and to remain in <br />effect until amended or terminated. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has heard read said agreement in full and is famil- <br />iar with the contents thereof; <br />THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that <br />said Agreement for Maintenance of the State Highway in the City is hereby approved <br />and the Mayor and the City Clerk are directed to sign the same on behalf of said <br />City. <br />ADOPTED this 7th day of August, 1950. <br />CARL A. bAIT6utiGI <br />Ma -,tor of the City of Redwood City <br />ATTEST; <br />RALPH S. Pettion was submitted requesting con- <br />sideration in finding ways and means of )aying the existing overtime pay due them. <br />They felt that under the civil service rules governing the employees of the City <br />that the City was required to cle ar all overtime either by time off or by payment <br />in cash at the end of each 90 -day period and they asked that a ruling be secured <br />from the City Attorney as to the City's responsibility in clearing up the existing <br />accumulated overtime. They felt the only solution was payment in cash. The peti- <br />tion was signed by 25 members of the department. Councilman Granger moved that this <br />Problem be referred to a joint committee for study to work out a portion of the over- <br />time payment. Mayor Britschgi appointed Councilman Granger, Chairman, Royer, Sgt. <br />Idoudakas, Lt. Faulstich from the Police Department, Fireman McSherry and Assistant <br />Fire Chief Leslie to meet with the City Manager. Councilman Spillers inquired of <br />City Attorney if the demand was made to pay if the City was obligated to pay in full. <br />City Attorney said he would check on this* <br />PERSONNEL BOARD RECOIJLENDATI�N PROPOSED JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT V'A.TER SUPERINTENDENT. <br />It was recommended that ordin..nce be amended to include this position.
