NpYOR $RITSCHGI EXPLAINED THE P'URPOSL OF THE MEETING IFAS TO CONTINUE CERTAIN MATTERS UN- <br />FINISHED AT THE TA ST REGULAR MEETING of the Council and to hold PUBLIC HEARING ON <br />PROPOSED 1,mPROVEMENTS AT FRIENDLY ACRES. <br />CONTINUATION OF HEARING ON STAR'LEY-WESTGATE- Mr. R. M. Rowland appeared to call attention <br />to certain cracks which had developed in sidewalks and paving pulled 'away from curbing. <br />He was advised City would maintain streets after accepted by the City Engineer. Mr. <br />J. A. Montague, Jas. Craig, Maxwell Rankin, Thos. G. James, Arnold Jarvis all spoke in <br />turn regarding cost of improvement, lack of information received prior to the actual <br />y1ork done and miscellaneous small objections. Mayor Britschgi explained the purpose <br />of the hearing was to determine whether or not the work was done in accordance with <br />plans and specifications. Upon City Engineer Jai n and City Manager Rolison stating <br />that the work had been done in accordance with plans and specifications, Councilman <br />Royer moved that objections be overruled, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO- 938 CONFIRMING ASSESSIVIENT ARID DIAGRAM.. STAN 'Y-WESTGATE. Councilman <br />Spillers offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Jones and <br />carried on roll call, Councilman Morgan and Granger noted absent. <br />RES O LUT ION No. 938 <br />RESOLUTION CONFIRMING ASSESSMENTS AND <br />ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM <br />STANLEY-YVIESTGATE <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City on July 18, 1949, duly and reg- <br />ularly passed and adopted Resolution No. 743, declaring its intention to make certain <br />improvements in the City of Redwood City, more particularly described in said resolu— <br />tion and to which resolution reference is hereby made for further particulars; and <br />WHEREAS an assessment diagram was prepared and•approved by the Council of the City <br />of Redwood City oxi April. 3, 1950, to which diagram reference is hereby made for further <br />particulars; and <br />WHEREAS said improvements have been satisfactorily completed; and <br />WHEREAS proper notice of the filing of said assessment was given by the Clerk of <br />the City of Redwood City by posting, causing to be published and mailing notice of <br />the assessment to each person owning property proposed to be assessed therefor, as- said <br />persons' names and addresses appeared on the last equalized assessment roll for City <br />taxes; and <br />WHEREAS a hearing was held on August 7, 1950 in theCity Hall of the City of <br />Redwood City at which time all written protests to said assessment were read; and <br />WHEREAS said hearing was duly and regularly continued to August 14th, 1950; and <br />WHEREAS at the date last above mentioned, all protests whether oral or written <br />were duly overruled and denied. <br />WHEREAS all other written protests, if any, were overruled; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City resolves as follows: <br />That the assessments and the assessment diagram attached thereto, covering the <br />cost of certain improvementsmade in the City of Redwood City and described in Resolu- <br />tion No.743, to which resolution references is hereby made for further particulars, <br />and which assessment has been filed with the Clerk of the City of Redwood City, be <br />I'd the same is hereby approved and confirmed. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting <br />thereof, held on the 14th day of August, 19502 by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: HERKNER, JONES, ROYER, SPILLEI:S AND BRITSCHGI. <br />NOES, <br />ABSENT, <br />ATTEST: <br />Councilmen: <br />Councilmen: <br />NONE <br />GRANGER AND MORGAN. <br />RALPH S.
