Councilman Spillers offered resole <br />tion and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call, Mayor <br />Britschgi noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 954 <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT <br />CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS <br />OAK, REESE AND JOHNSON STREETS <br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that the public con• <br />veninece and necessity require, and that it intends to order in accordance with the a <br />P set out in Article I of Ordinance Nn. 333 of said City, adopted March 14 <br />1932, as amended, the following work to be done and improvements to be made in and for <br />said City, to wit; <br />(1) The improvement of Oak Avenue from King Street to a point near the north• <br />erly lin of Lot 9, Block 1, resubdivision <br />iRedwoof Lot 29 Avenue•ReesetS Subdivision; <br />the improve,% <br />of Johnson Street from Oak Avenue Reese <br />Street from Oak Avenue to Redwood Avenue by constructing and installing therein 211 1 <br />asphaltic concrete paving 311 wide on a 61' crusher run rock base, standard concrete <br />curbs and gutters on either side thereof, and standard concrete sidewalks on either <br />side thereof, and standard concrete driveway approaches, provided, however, that none <br />of the aforementioned work shall be done on Johnson Street at its intersection with % <br />Redwood Creek for a distance of approximately 40 ieet across Redwood Creek, and none t <br />of said work shall be done on Reese Street at its intersection with Redwood Creek for 1 <br />a distance of approximately 34 feet across Redwood Creek. <br />(2) The construction and installation of a storm sewer system complete in <br />place as follows; <br />(a) In Reese Street a 15" reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer extending approx- <br />imately 281 in a northwesterly direction in said street from a standard reinforced <br />concrete catch basin to be constructed at the intersection of Reese Street and <br />Redwood Avenue; thence a 1511 corrugated metal pine storm drain extending 20t in the <br />same direction.to Redwood Creek. <br />(b) In Johnson Street a'1511 reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer extending approx- <br />imately 121 in a northwesterly direction in said street from a standard reiffforced <br />concrete catch basin to be constructed'at the intersection of hedwood Avenue and <br />Johnson Street; thence a 1511 corrugated metal pipe storm drain extending in the <br />same directip approximately 201 to Redwood Creek. <br />(c) 1511 reinforced concret pipe siphons at the following locations, comple to with <br />standard reinforced concrete catch basins at either end thereof, as follows; <br />1 - One across Reese Street at Oak Avenue. <br />2 - One across Johnson Street at Oak Avenue. <br />(3)- The construction and installation of redwood barricades at the following <br />locations; <br />(a) <br />Two <br />at <br />the <br />intersection <br />of <br />Redwood <br />Creek <br />and <br />Johnson Street. <br />(b) <br />Two <br />at <br />the <br />intersection <br />of <br />Redwood <br />Creek <br />and <br />Reese Street. <br />(4) The construction and installation of all work and furnishing all material ''I <br />necessary therefor, auxiliary to any of the work provided to be done in sections 1 <br />through 3 hereof which may be reasonably required to carry out the same. <br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places, in the manner, <br />of the sizes, of the materials, and to the lines, grades and elevations as shown <br />on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor, and on file in the office of <br />the City Egnineer of the City of Redwood City, and the same are made a part hereof <br />by reference thereto. <br />Mienever an ubl' <br />y p is way is referred to as running between two public ways, or <br />from or to any public way, the intersections of thep ublic wa s referred to are in- j <br />eluded to the extent that work shall be done thereiny <br />specifications hereinbefore referred to. pursuant to the plans and <br />Said Council does hereby adopt and establish as the official grades for said 1 <br />work the grades as shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor and <br />hereinbefore referred to. <br />The total estimated cost of said improvements as determined by the City Engineer { <br />of Redwood City, California, is the sum of $230733.75. <br />Said contemplated work and improvements in the opinion of said Cit Council, <br />is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said Council does hereby make i. <br />the cost and expenses of doing such work and improvements char eable upon a districts ? <br />which district said Council declares to be the district benefited b said work and <br />improvements and to be assessed to pay the entire cost and expenseythereof and which <br />said distreit is wholly within the limits of said City of Redwood City, State of <br />Califorhia, and is described as follows; <br />1 <br />
