Froohis
investment standpoint it does not appear that any forseeable development will occur within the bonding pori
that will aid or permit repayment of the cost of the improvement. Our property in particular, has no sub. Such a development would not
place any structures on the right of wqy that might later have to be removed.
If bn'the other hand the project is to be doen at this time we trust that the adjustments recommended herein
be made and thus cut—down the burden proposed to be placed upon our property. The adjoining property owners
on Marshall between Main and Maple have not initiated this improvement and are not asking that it be done,
The cost far exceeds any present or future returns and the"benefitil, if any is for through traffic.
THE "GENOCHIO ESTATE"
Edward P. Councilman Morgan asked Mr.. Guido if he would allow the
street to cross the Genochio property in the event the project was postponed and was advised by the City Engio-
eer that a street plan had been adopted by the Planning Commission and the Council last July which would
take care of the situation. Col. Weiss spoke briefly on the subject as an interested citizen suggesting
that drainage covered by Item 2 of the Committee Report should be paid for by the district drained, and
voicing his opposition to method of payment of water mains as proposed in Item 6. He also stated his
opinion that Marshall Street should not be widened to 801 unless it became an arterial street, but if not,
should be held at a 60+ width.
Attorney, Wilson spoke at length on the subject, stating that it was not within his province to design the
project but only to advise the Council, provide ways and means to finance. He stated that in his opinion
many things could be eliminAted, that other items could be covered by the suggested amendment to Ordinance
No. 333• The Council had the power to overrule the Committee or accept the report in full, and stated his
readiness to proceed whenever an agreement is reached.
BIDS — REQUEST FOR EXTENSION. Councilman Royer moved, seconded by Councilman Morgan that an extension of 30
days; be requested for the successful bidder, Motion carried.
ATTORNEY.WAGSTAFF again addressed the Council requesting that the Committee again be given a chance to go over
vest;
the figures should the Council reach a decision. He again stated his belief that the incidental costs shou"
CMIOILMA
be broken dorm and that if and when a decision was reached, a reassessment should be made spreading the costs i
Strep
and each porperty owner advised of the costs before any final action is taken.
& E:
COUNCIL WILL MEET FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 29th at 7:30 P.M. with engineers and Mr. Wilson to study the committee
press
port.
Councilmal
Hearing of all matters pertaining to BROADWAY—MARSILU continued to October 2nd, 1950 meeting, on motion of
Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
