204 <br />LIAN DEFENSE MEETING, SUPERVISORS CHAMFERS, THURSDAY <br />LETTER FROM COUNTY CLERK RE CIVTL <br />NOp <br />30th2 19501 8:00 P.M- Mayor Britschgi suggested letter be filed and thought most of the <br />Councilmen would be in attendance. <br />LETTER FROM COMMUTERS1 CLUB RE BOY SCOUT CHRISTMAS TREE STAND. Councilman Morgan stated <br />letter was to be brought to him to submit to the Council. The boys had hoped to sell <br />trees on Butcher Field and wished the Council to waive the fee of $25.00. Mr. Zikman <br />was interested in the scouts and intended to finance the whole thing and if there was any <br />loss he would take that responsibility. Mr. Currie stated Attorney Harold Anderson was <br />interested in knowing whether or not portion of street that was closed on the Northside <br />of Broadway between Jefferson and Main could be used by the boys. Mayor Britschgi was <br />in favor of request if they cleaned up the area as provided by the ordinance. Council. <br />.man Morgan moved that this be placed on the agenda until they had further information, <br />seconded by Councilman Granger. Councilman Granger stated an organization he was <br />connected with turned down a contract to have trees furnished them on account of the <br />man <br />had <br />man <br />sec <br />gR5011NE <br />I I of t`- <br />atic-- <br />Cour= <br />wages <br />license fee and the Council should bear in mind that other organizations had every right <br />to expect waiving of license fees by the Council. They paid about $6.00, or $8.00. LETTER % <br />LETTER FROM METHODIST CHURCH RE ABANDONMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT. Request was for PROh <br />abandonment of easement which runs from Broadway to the property owned by August J Fromd to <br />and crosses property owned by the church and by the YMCA. Letter was signed by Irving the <br />E. Kesterson, Chairman, Building Committee, and stated they had conferred with the PG&E, <br />Chi' <br />and at the church's expense the lines had been rerouted and reinstalled and they were <br />had <br />also advised that this met with the approval ofthe PG&E and the Pao Tel & Tel Co. <br />was <br />I" t <br />Cou <br />letters on file from both the PG&E and the Pao Tel & Tel Co. confirming their approval, <br />jM <br />after which resolution could be prepared for adoption at the next meeting, secondedby <br />he11 <br />Councilman Jones.
