In San <br />Francisco, a 251 increase was allowed deducting any increases which had been already <br />I + <br />alloyed. The purpose of the increase eras to offset increased cost of maintenance. <br />pI,''1 <br />Councilman Spillers stated he was definitely, against the control for some property <br />! <br />owners while others who had built after 1947 were allowed to charge any rent they <br />wished. He stated further that if Congress again felt it necessary to put rent con- <br />! Motion carried. <br />City Engineer Jain requested authority to prepare plans and specifications, Circle <br />Toad Improvements, from Whipple Avenue to Whipple Avenue. He also suggested that <br />the City Auditor be authoi ed to advance funds from the General Fund, to be reim- <br />bursed from the assessment district. Authority granted on motion of Councilman <br />Herkner seconded by Councilman Morgan, with the understanding that City Engineer Jain <br />would report back to the Council as to the amount recommended to be paid by the City <br />towards cost of the storm drainage system. Motion carried. <br />;14 <br />Councilman Morgan asked present status of the Broadway -Marshall project. City <br />; <br />Attorney stated he had written a letter to Mr. Wilson asking that a date be set when <br />he <br />could meet with the Council. <br />Councilman Granger asked about street signs, particularly in Wellesley Park and <br />Ed ewood Road area. City Manager explained that street signs were paid for out of <br />bond funds but that there were Inot enough funds available to 'complete the job. He <br />I' <br />"I; <br />
