Wood, Assistant Building <br />' <br />Stephen Kreiss Fire Chirf J. L. Lodi, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter. <br />P A REQ <br />ly <br />FURTHER DISCUSSION OF BROADWAY-VIIARSHALL IMPROVEMENTS. Hearing was duly and regular <br />continued to the next regular meeting on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by <br />Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING PEED ABATEMENT. City Engineer Jain recommended that the contract <br />for weed abatement (by disking only) be awarded to C. J. Simms, 1335 C a puchino <br />Avenue, Burlingame, and that all other bids be rejected and the certified checks <br />returned to the bidders. City Manager Rolison concurred in the recommendation. <br />The 5051a of the lots to be disked were under 10,000 sq. ft. and Yr. Simms submitted <br />the lowest bid for the smaller lots of $2.00. This included two diskings• ISI. Perry <br />& Son, 1715 Valota Road, Redwood City, was low bidder on the larger sized lots. <br />Mr. Simms was recommended for submitting the best bid for the most people* City <br />Clerk read the unit bids for the Councilts comparison. Fire Chief Lodi stated each <br />lot was inspected to make sure it had been disked. Councilman Spillers moved <br />approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried, Mayor <br />Britschgi voting No. 1 <br />C0104ITTE REPORT ON INVESTMENT SURPLUS FUNDS BY COUNCILMAN JONES. Committee was awaiting <br />written communication from the three banks for a bid on deposit of surplus monies <br />in War Memorial, Off-street Parking and 1944 City Plan Bond Funds, 30 day and 90 day <br />withdrawal notice, because of available interest rate.
