<br />VARSI REQUEST FOR TMKPORARY SEWER CONNECTION ON yANZANITA ST. Attorney Millington, rep-
<br />resenting Mr. Varsi, stated that Council had previously granted this sewer con-
<br />nection, the agreement for which was to be identical with agreement entered into
<br />on the first apartment house in the same area. He stated further that City Engineer
<br />had set the amount of the deposit at 013000 instead of 0500 as originally agreed
<br />upon. City Engineer and City Attorney explained the amount 0500 would be insuffi-
<br />cient to protect the City in.the event a seerer assessment was set up in the area.
<br />After considerable discussion, Councilman Royer moved that deposit be set at 0500.
<br />Mr. Varsi to agree to maintain the temporary line, to replace any money used to
<br />repair the line and to keep the deposit at 0500 at all times. Motion seconded by
<br />! Councilman Spillers. Councilman Herkner moved amendment to motion whereby I,"ir.
<br />Varsi would furnish a 01,000 bond to guarantee that he would keep the temporary
<br />line in repair, and that he would agree to assessment when permanent line was in-
<br />stalled. Bond was to be for five years, and Mr. Varsi would agree to pay cash for
<br />any repairs to the temporary line. Motion seconded by Councilman Jones, and carried,
<br />Mr. Varsi agreed to have the 01,000 bond by the end of the week and it was agreed
<br />that he would be allowed to continue construction of the building until Saturday.
<br />Councilman Morgan so moved, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried.
<br />ORDINANCE CALLING SPECIAL BOND ELECTION was introduced on motion of Councilman Morgan,
<br />seconded by Councilman Jones, and carried. Councilman Jones commended the Tribune
<br />for the favorable editorial, and commented further on possible savings in fire
<br />insurance rates should the special election prove to be favorable in passing the
<br />water and fire.facilities.
<br />OFF STREET PARKING COl1MITTEE. Councilman Morgan requested that this be placed on the
<br />agenda to allow more time to gather the necessary information.
<br />CITYI'riANAGER REQUEST FOR AUTHORITY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS, MOTORCYCLE. New motorcycle
<br />was considered advisable at this time due to recent accident to one of the present
<br />cycles. Permission was granted to advertise for bids, subject to payment and
<br />delivery subsequent to July 1, 1951, on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded
<br />by Councilman Morgan, and carried.
<br />WATER AGRMWENTS, N.J.KING CO. Attorney Cosgrove requested a meeting in the near
<br />future to discuss the question of refunding cost of water systems in the Woodside
<br />Terrace No. 1323 and 3 subdivisions. Mayor Britschgi will select a date for meet-
<br />ing at which the entire council will meet with the King representatives, on motion
<br />Of 'Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried.
<br />BOARD OF THE FIRE UNDERWRITERS LETTER REGARDING RATING AT FRIENDLY ACRES.I r . T.A. Lloyd
<br />Engineer, states in his communication that Friendly Acres will enjoy the same
<br />rating as givon to the City as a whole, should the new fire station, with apparatus
<br />and manpower, together with additional fire hydrants as included in the special
<br />bond election, be installed in that area. Letter filed.
<br />MEETING WITH FRIENDLY ACRES, II,:PROVEI,„ENT ASSOCIATION. Arrangements were made with Ir;r.
<br />McDonald and Kr. Youngblutt to meet at the Taft School Wednesday evening April 4th'
