Motion carried. <br />li,�i ! <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE REPORT ON LEFT TURNS AT BROADWAY AT ARGUELLO. Question <br />of preventing left hand turns onto Arguello by motorists crossing the Southern <br />Pacific tracks was studied and it appeared that a portable sign would not be prac- <br />!'tical because of the added hazard it would create. The Police Department was <br />+' planning on enforcing no left turns onto Arguello during peak hours as soon as <br />! I 'i the new traffic signals have been installed at Broadway and Main and at Middlefield <br />and Main, thus releasing manpower for this purpose. Councilman Spillers moved <br />report of committee be accepted, seconded by Councilman Jones. Administrative <br />Assistant Miller stated the committee had considered the danger of hitting a sign <br />a hazard to autos. Upon discussion Councilman Jones withdrew his second and motion <br />was lost. Councilman Granger then moved that the sign be used during peak hours at <br />~ the discretion of proper authorities seconded b Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />p P , Y <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDED RESOLUTION STOP SIGN ON FULTON AT JAMES) <br />CHURCH CONSTRUCTION. Mayor Britschgi thought the Board, of Equalization should be <br />i; informed that the Council was not satisfied with the conditions under which bars <br />y �l, were operating in this area, and suggested that the Council meet with representatives <br />of the Board. On roll call vote Councilman Granger passed his vote, Councilman <br />Herkner - Yes, and Jones - Yes, with protests, Councilman Morgan, Royer and Spillers <br />Yes, and Mayor Britschgi - Yes, with the thought that something be done with the <br />' I <br />- <br />Board of Equalization, on the whole bar and restaurant situation. Motion carried. <br />�i Councilman Morgan moved that the Board of Equalization be written a letter telling <br />them the Council was not satisfied at all with their classification of restaurants <br />+ <br />in bars and ask them for their requirements of restaurant classification in a bar, <br />urant <br />I' seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />�a' i #, '!,•! C11 ATTORNEY REPORT ON MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT. Mr. Currie had talked with several members <br />of the District Attorney's staff but they were not familiar with the problem. Under <br />the Mutual Aid Agreement request should come from the Count Fire Department to call <br />�} Aj } the City Fire Department. <br />y N,! CITY MANAGER REPORT ON MINIATURE TRAIN COMMUNITY PARK. This was left to Councilman <br />Spillers, p , Recreation Committee to work out agreement with Mr. Layton, providing <br />Mr. Layton pay all expenses of installation.
