Motion carried, Councilman Spillers voting No. <br />g6'RTRER DISCUSSION APPROPRIATION. POLICY AUXILIARY. Police Chief Wood reported that 22 <br />writing <br />men had indicated in riting of their desire to become members of the Police Reserve <br />and 6 wished to remain as Auxiliary Police. Four men failed to reply to .inquiries. <br />It was desired that the Police Reserve become activated as soon as possible and as <br />$1500 had been made available for the purpose of uniforming the members, Chief Wood <br />requested sufficient money be appropriated to furnish uniforms and badges for the 22 <br />men. The most acceptable quotations on uniforms including trousers, Eisenhouser <br />!; <br />jackets and caps were $46-50 each, Cap ornaments $2.75 each and Stars $4.00 each. <br />1223.50 was the amount needed to purchase 22 uniforms, and caps, Additional stars <br />� , <br />were requested as the firm submitting quotation .expected an increase from $4.00 each <br />. { ': <br />f <br />for nickel badges to $9.00 each for sterling silver badges, nickel badges to be dis- <br />continued because of shortage of metal. Councilman Granger offered resolution and <br />i,,� ',',; <br />moved adoption transferring $1223.50 as recommended by Chief Wood and approved by the <br />City Manager, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br />BOARDED UP INCOMPLETED BUILDING ON BROADWAY WAS BROUGHT UP BY COUNCILMAN HERKNER. Chief Lodi stated it was on the agenda for several months but they had <br />not been authorized to go ahead with the investigation; as conditions were generally <br />not good it had been the intention to make a joint survey, all departments partic- <br />;• u ! 4 <br />ipating.Councilman Granger thought notices of this kind should fall within the <br />Province of the various departments to take the initial step and not, come from thej <br />u <br />I <br />Council, and he moved that an u to date report be made on this section, seconded by <br />p <br />�' <br />!4 <br />Councilman Royer and carried. <br />L'i <br />NO REPLY FROM SOU THERN PACIFIC COMPANY RE PEDESTRIAN GATES HAD BEEN RECEIVED advised the <br />G <br />City Clerk on question from Councilman Granger, and he moved, that the Clerk be in- <br />structed to again inform the Southern Pacific Co., by letter that the Council desired <br />an answer to their communication, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />DAMAGE <br />TC UNIFORMS OF DUTY VJAS brought up by Councilman Spillers. <br />of POLICE OFFICERS IN LINE <br />
