Mayor Britschgi called to phone and Councilman Granger assumed Mayor Pro -Tem on motion of <br />ttorney Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. Councilman Royer moved that the state- <br />f ment of policy be read into the minutes, seconded by Councilman Herkrier and carried. <br />ectors FOLIC IEiARING - ABANDONMENT OF NATIONAL AVENUE. Councilman Herkner <br />lded by moved authorization for City Manager to advertise for bids, first for the, leasing of a portion of <br />ide the - National Avenue and second for the improvement of extension of Broadway. )Action seconded by Council - <br />,luded man Spillers and carried. Attorney Winston Black, representing the National Motor Bearing Company <br />S4 <br />ated they were very anxious to get the work started, including the paving of the portion of National <br />Lness of <br />that <br />i, the <br />i. <br />recom- <br />LOth. <br />Avenue for parking. It was understood that this work could possibly be undertaken at the same time <br />the improvement of Broadway .was started thus saving time. Bids will be.opened at theAugust6th meeting. <br />Councilman Herkner discussed the grading of the five acre area and was informed the contour map was <br />completed and bids could, be called for at this time. City Manager was authorized to advertise for bids <br />to be opened August 6th, on motion of Councilman Herkner., seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />Councilman Granger will contact County Engineer Grant and again request the removal of the County <br />materials from the Broadway area. <br />9MATION - LOPEZ PROPERTY, PORTION HORGAN RANCH. Ordinance introduced on motion of Councilman Spillers, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />p141NING C0I&ISSION RECO =ENDED APPROVAL RESUBDIVIDE LOT 13, BLOCK 4, JEFFERSON ACRES, (Madison & Iris). <br />Councilman Morgan moved approval of the Planning Commission recommendation, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones. Commissioner McDonald stated his objections to the resubdivision as establishing precedent. <br />Councilman Jones stated his opinion that each case such as the one under consideration, should be <br />considered on its merits. Councilman Royer stated the County had similar problems and have allowed <br />easements to get to the rear of deep lots. Motion carried, Councilman Granger passing. <br />PIWING 0011MISSION REC0181ENDING DENIAL OF LLOYD DAVIS APPLICATION TO RESUBDIVIDE LOT 7, BLOCK 23 REESE <br />SUBDIVISION, (Corner Johnson & Oak). Reason, i.nsufficient area. .Lot now has 8820 sq. ft. Council- <br />man Morgan moved approval, seconded by Councilman Jones. Mr. Davis appeared and asked reconsideration, <br />however; after discussion motion carried unanimously. <br />B40T'.IA'_MARSHALL IMPROVEMENTS regularly continued to August 6th meeting on motion of Councilman Morgan, <br />seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />u' N. WEINER REQUEST FOR LIGHT ?N FRONT OF MOTEL AT 1402 STAFFORD STREET. Referred to City Manager for <br />report back, report to cover also proposed light on Madison Avenue in the vicinity of the swimming <br />Pool on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />.A - <br />7 <br />
