PERSONNEL BOARD RECOMMENDATION ACCIDENT ALLOWANCE FOR INDUSTRIAL INJURY., 'Letter from IJ, rj I¢ Personnel Board recommending that personnel rules be amended granting one day a month credit for industrial accident the as now granted for sick leave. ey also recommend that effective January 11 1952 each permanent employee receive one day disability leave credit for each month of permanent past service up to a maximum of 90 days. PERSONNEL BOARD RECOIiIvtEDTDATION SATURDAY CLOSING CITY HALL. The Board recommends a five day, 40 hour week from 8 AM to 5 PM for all City Hall employees, lunch hour to be one full hour. Councilman Spillers spoke at length against this proposal it being his i.;.,.,, thought that employees should work total of 38 hours per week. Councilman Spillers u motion that the hours be set 5 days per week for 8:30 to 5PM was lost for want of a second, then Councilman Granger moved approval of the recommendation of the Personnel Board seconded by Councilman Jones. The Civil Service Committee has concurred in the recommendation of the Board. Councilman Granger stated that should this program go c into effect something should be done to work out some satisfactory solution to the working hours bf the Fire and Police Departments. Councilman Granger suggested that should the new hours not be acceptable to the Employees Association, hours hould be returned to the basis of :00 to :00 five days per week and to 12 on Saturda s 9 5 � y p 9 y, � a' thus working full 38 hours as was the practice some three years ago. Councilman j Herkner was of the opinion that perhaps the City Hall should be kept open for certain ! departments with compensating time allowance for those employees forced to work. Council man Royer was of the opinion that this would be impractical as a matter of Saturday a;;r;: ; closing was being generally accepted. Councilman Spillers offered amendment to the k JJ ¢! motion asking that the matter be placed on the agenda to the December 3rd meeting. This {�' € motion died for �lack of a second. It was agreed that the Cit Hall could be kept opern g y on certain days to expedite collection of taxes as is being done by the County Tax Collector. Original motion carried. COUNCILMAN SPILLERS LEFT THE MEETING. ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE 686, NO PARKING ZONE MAIN STREET NEAR MIDDLEFIED ROAD. Affidavit of publication ordered filed by the Mayor.
