Peter Sorensen 39,900.00 Arthur Brothers 1,900.00 6, Lloyd Osborne 53,453.00 City Manager Rolison recommended contract be awarded to Stevenson Pacific -Henderson in the amount of $482592.00. Mr. Rolison called attention to -the fact that of the above amount the estimated sum of x$2780 is chargeable to Library Purposes and the sum of $2255 for the construction of a radio -generator room for Civil Defense. Had these two services been O.K.' d the price of the fire station would have been $43,557.00. City Attorney Currie stated that in his opinion the City would be in violation were it to go ahead with the construction of this building without obtaining priority from NPA even thugh the contractor has the required critical materials on hand. He suggested that low bidder be requested to hold the bid open until it could be determined whether substitute materials might be used or until priority might be obtained. Mr. L. J. Phillips representing the low bidder stated that the necessary materials were ozk.hand. However, he suggested that the City proceed to get necessary priority for the first quarter of 1952. He stated that he was quite sure that the contractor would be willing to hold bid open for 30 days to allow time for further checking. Councilman Granger moved matter be held over to the meeting of December 3rd, that the contractor satisfy City Manager all materials are available. Councilman Morgan seconded motion and carried. Councilman Jones suggested that City Attorney stress the Civil Defense Program when further attempting to secure priority. 02 SCRAP MATERIALS. City Manager submitted results of bid opening sale of scrap and 4 used materials. The prices as offered for scrap iron and steel while meeting the 3WO Praised value did not appear to be satisfactory as well as the price offered for scrap iron and aluminum -Matter was placed on the agenda to check further into the pries offered.
