22 Mayor Britschgi appointed Councilman Royer to work on the Real Estate Committee as a substitute for Councilman Spillers. COUNCILMAN HERKNER REPORTED THAT THE COMLIITTEE CHECKING THE STATUS OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY is progressing satisfactorily and will have information completed in the near future. COUNCILMAN ROYER REQUESTED INFORMATION REGARDING APPRAISAL OF PROPERTY ADJACENT TO FIRE HOUSE No.l. City Attorney Currie stated he desired to discuss this matter at an executive session. , COUNCILMAN ROYER SUGGESTED CITY MANAGER ROLISON OR CITY ENGINEER JAIN TO CHECK INTO THE CREEK CONDITIONS at the rear of property facing James Avenue with the thought that the covering of the creek should be surveyed. City Engineer Jain stated that he had approved the design for covering as proposed by Mr. Weltner. With the thought that the property owners in the area were interested in this matter, Councilman Royer moved that the Mayor appoint a committee to work with the City Manager and City Engineer to contact the property owners in the area, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and Carried. Mayor Britschgi appointed Councilman Jones and Royer to work on this committee. COUNCILMAN GRANGER STATED HE HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MR. A. E. SHOEMAKER at 3485 Hoover Street, stating that the contractor installing the recent improvements had destroyed three trees in front of his property. Councilman Granger suggested that this matter be checked into and Councilman Jones moved that the Park Superintendent be authorized to replace these trees suggesting that he contact Mr. Shoemaker and attempt to settle this dispute, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. COUNCILMAN GRANGER STATED THAT HE HAD DISCOVERED A PLAQUE LOCATED IN THE CORPORATION YARD Which had been prepared several years ago to commemorate the donation of Reservoir property by Mr. W. H. Dingee. He suggested that this plaque be installed on the reservoir site in the regular manner and Councilman Morgan so moved, seconded by Councilman Royer, and carried. COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT THE CITY ENGINEER ARRANGE TO DISPOSE OF OR REMOVE the shack located in the Year of Paint Shop, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. COUNCILMAN GRANGER SUGGESTED THAT A DATE BE SELECTED TO CONTINUE THE STUDY OF THE PROPOSED TRAFFIC ORDINANCE. This matter was placed on the agenda for 30 days. COUNCILMAN MORGAN INQUIRED AS TO THE PRESENT STATUS OF THE CHARTER STUDY COIZIITTEE REPORT. been City Attorney Currie advised all work has/completed and he would like to meet with the the Committee to study the recommendations and/report to the Council will be prepared in time for inclusion on the April ballot. COUNCILMAN JONES CALLED ATTENTION TO THE RECENT BRAWL at 832 Main Street involving three minors. He was of the opinion that the situation was deplorable and some protest should be made to the State Board of Equalization. He requested Chief Wood to check into the situation and endeavor to find out whether liquor was served to minors at the above location. After further discussion, Councilman Jones moved that if the facts developed that a report be made to the Board of Equalization, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. It was suggested that a Board Member be contacted and asked to sit in with the Council and discuss this and other situations existing in this area. City Attorney Currie was asked to arrange such a meeting.
