Councilman Spillers <br />noted absent* <br />,,,Rlog No.1184 ESTABLISHING PARKING METER ZONE TAXI STAND ON MAIN STREET was offered <br />,by0ouncilman Granger, who moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Royer, and <br />carried on roll call. Councilman Spillers noted absent. <br />IiTORNEY CURRIE REPORTED ON PROPOSED ORDINANCE, SATURDAY CLOSING. City Attorney Currie <br />discussed the proposed ordinance adopted by the County which made provisions for keep- <br />ingTax and Assessor's Offices open on certain'Saturdays, compensatory time off to be <br />allowed to employees working on these special days. Councilman Morgan moved introdue- <br />tion of ordinance, seconded by Councilman Herkner, and carried. <br />EFROM CHAMBER OF CGLWIERCE <br />regarding <br />clean-up <br />areas <br />adjoining <br />Bayshore. Mr. Peter <br />Sorensen representing the <br />Chamber of <br />Commerce <br />spoke <br />regarding <br />this matter stating that <br />the purpose of the committee was an attempt to carry out this clean+,up program. On <br />notion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Herkner, City .Manager and City <br />Engineer were directed to check into City properties in this area to the end that this <br />condition might be improved. Motion carried. <br />REM ANDREW SPINAS REGARDING APPROVAL OF FIVE MAN SCHOOL BOARD. City Attorney Currie <br />received a letter from the Superintendent of Elementary School, Mr. A. Spinas stating <br />that in order to increase the School Board from 3 to 5 members, it would be necessary <br />for the City to approve by resolution. <br />� M%11 MORGAN OFFERED RESOLUTION No -1185 AND MOVED ADOPTION, SECONDED BY Councilman <br />doves and carried on roll call. Councilman Spillers noted absent. <br />FROM DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS STATING THEIR DISAPPROVAL OFA 41IAR MEMORIAL BUILDING <br />IT THIS TIME. Councilman Jones moved that the letter be acknowledged and statement of <br />a➢Prediation for their thought, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />ZMA11 HERKNER REPORTED ON THE PRESENT STATUS OF PAVING CARSON STREET AND RO03EVELT <br />I'ENUE. Curb and gutter has been installed and rock has been spread, job will be <br />completed within a few days after street dries out sufficiently. <br />'41L'� N HERKNER REPORTED ON PROPOSED PROPOSED PURCHASE OF LOT 45 x 150 Por. of Lot 15, <br />M, adjacent to Recreation Center.
