444 <br />Councilman Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERSHIP TO PLAITIING COMMISSION TO FILL VACANCY. Councilman Royer pre- <br />sented the name of Leonard Greenwold, 735 E1 Camino Real and moved that nominations <br />be closed, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried unanimously. <br />A LETTER WAS READ FROM THE PORT OF REDWOOD CITY REGARDING APPLICATION TO PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />COMMISSION FOR PUBLIC CROSSING AT THE PORT ENTRANCE. The Council was requested to <br />file an application with the Public Utilities Commission on behalf of the City to <br />establish a public crossing at the present entrace to the Port, all expenses connect <br />ed thereto to be paid by the Port. Councilman Spillers moved approval of this <br />request, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />ABATEMENT BROADWAY BUILDINGS - CONTINUATION PROCEEDINGS. Councilman Granger stated that <br />he had received copy, of communication from the representative of IvLr.'Franks as did <br />all members of the Council outlining the present status of Mr. F'rank's attempt to <br />build to take care of the present tenants. Councilman Granger stated that he could <br />see noting indicating any agreement or contract between Mr. Frank and the proposed <br />tenants. In Bir. Anderson's letter Council was requested to address a letter to <br />1.1ahington to add Wight to contractor's request for priority to build contemplated <br />new building. After further discussion it was dicided that action be taken to carry <br />out the abatement proceedings and on motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by <br />Councilman Morgan, proper authorities were directed to carry out proceedings as <br />agreed upon by I.1r. Frank. Motion carried. Councilman Spillers moved that letter <br />be directed to NPA in Washington, application No. J25545 in an effort to assist con -I <br />tractor in securing steel application. Motion seconded by Councilman Morgan and <br />carried. <br />ADOPTI0N ORDINANCE NO PARKING SOUTHERLY SIDE MIDDLEFIELD ROAD NEAR MAIN STREET. Affidavit <br />of publication was ordered filed by the Mayor. Councilman Spillers moved adoption <br />ORDINANCE # 692, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried on roll call. <br />RESOLUTION #1200 TRANSFERRING �?'22005.19 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO COVER COST OF <br />DZPROVRT ENTS TO THE CITE' 01'9%IED PROPERTIES IN THE OAK-REESE-JOHNSON DISTRICT PRO- <br />CEEDINGS. Councilman Herkner offered resolution and moved ad6ption, seconded by <br />Councilman Royer and carried on roll call., <br />RESOLUTION #1201 TRANSFERRING 02543.36 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO COVER COST ON IMPROVE- <br />MEIITS TO THE CITY OWNED PROPERTIES IN THE WHIPPLE AVENUE IMPROVEMENT, SEMI -CIRCLE <br />PARK. Councilman Spillers offered resolution and moved adoption and carried on <br />roll call. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON THE LARGE AREA RESERVED FOR NAVY PARKING IN FRONT OF <br />THEIR BUILDING ON MIDDLEFIELD ROAD STATING THAT THEIR SUTHORIT,Y TO TIE UP THIS <br />AREA SHOULD BE CHECKED INTO. <br />CJU14CILMAN GRANGER SUGGESTED THAT LINES BE PAINTED IN]HE PARKING AREA IN CALIFORNIA <br />SQUARE. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT CITY ATTORNEY DODGE CHECK INTO MATTER OF AUTOS parking on <br />streets for long periods of time suggesting that some action be taken to remove cars) <br />if parked beyond a certain period, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN SPILLERS, that Citizen's Street Lighting, <br />Study Committee be discharged and letter of thanks to be written to each member of <br />the committee, and carried. <br />
