Redwood City at which time all written protests to said'assessment were read; and <br />WHEREAS all said protests were duly overruled; and <br />WHEREAS all other written protests, if any, were overruled; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Redwood City resolves as follows: <br />That the assessments and the assessment diagram attached thereto, covering the <br />cost of certain improvements made in the City of Redwood City and described in <br />Resolution No. 746, to which resolution reference is hereby made for further partic- <br />ulars, and which assessment has been filed with the Clerk of the City of Redwood <br />City, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof, held on the 3rd day of -July, 1950, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution,, <br />Councilmen: GRANGER, HERKNER, JONES, MORGAN, ROYER, and Mayor BRITSCHGI. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: SPILLERS <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. BRITSCHGI <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />PUBLIC HEARING, JOHN HARTLEY RUG BUSINESS, 730 Katherine Street. Petition was presented <br />objecting to this business in a residential zone, signed by 28 residents. Councilman <br />Granger moved that the proper authorities be instructed to abate the nuisance, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones. Attorney Millington thought Mr. Hartley was entitled <br />to a hearing before the Planning Commission, that notices should be sent out to <br />residents, as he had had a permit and according to the Zoning Ordinance it could not <br />be revoked without this procedure. City Attorney Currie stated that having paid a <br />business license fee did not entitle him to any rights to any rights to operate in <br />a residential district. Motion carried. <br />PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF LAZZARESCHI PROPERTY, A PORTION OF THE HORGAN RANCH. The affidavit <br />of publication was ordered filed by Mayor Britschgi. <br />PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF THE LAZZARESCHI PROPERTY, A PORTION OF THE HORGAN <br />RANCH. On question Mr. Lazzareschi indicated he was willing to pay publication <br />cost. Councilman Morgan moved introduction of ordinance, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones and carried. <br />ABANDONMENT OF ALLEY, FIVE POINTS MERCANTILE TRACT. Larry Wise, Advisor of the Planning <br />Commission stated that the amended map should be returned to the Commission for their <br />recommendation. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed by Mayor Britschgi. <br />Councilman Jones moved that this be referred to the Planning Commission and that the <br />hearing be duly and regularly continued to July 17th, seconded by Councilman Morgan <br />and carried. <br />APPLICATION FOR TAXI PERMITS BY SPYROS, SKLIRIS, 300 Arlington Way, Menlo Park. Mr. <br />Skliris applied for two taxi permits. This was referred to a committee to study the <br />Taxi Ordinance and the Mayor appointed Councilmen Herkner, Royer, and Spillers to <br />review this with City Attorney Currie and City Manager Rolison.
