L CLAIM WAS PRESENTED BY JOE PORT, 422 MAPLE AVENUE, FOR SEVEN 8 -YEAR OLD. FRUIT TREES.. 91 <br />WHICH WERE BURNED WHEN THE FIRE DEPART-IENT BURNED GRASS ON HIS. LOT ON DOUGLAS, <br />i AVENUE• He valued the trees at X25.00 each. Councilman Granger oved that claim <br />be denied and referred to the insurance carrier, seconded by Councilman Royer and <br />carried. <br />CO <br />SCHOOL <br />RECO14MENDED CONSIDERATION BE GIVEN TO RECREATION BUILDING IN HOOVER <br />l p3pTATION <br />SCHOOL AREA• Members of the Hoover School area had requested continuation of build - <br />Ing. Construction had been halted due to need of Elementary School expansion of <br />buildings• There was need for the building and they hoped provisions could be made <br />to obtain sufficient land to again start construction of the building. Councilman <br />Spillers moved this be carried on the agenda until a survey could be made, report to <br />be made 1st meeting in September, seconded by Councilman Jones. City Manager Rolison <br />stated a letter had been written on August 3rd to the State Recreation Commission <br />' requesting when a, survey could be made, cost and time for completion. Recreation <br />'r <br />? Director Yorton advised a letter haci been received from the State on this date and <br />a representative would be in Redwood City on August 30th and something could be <br />worked out by then. Motion carried. <br />j RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDED THAT THE MARINER GROUP LIGHTNING #133 BE GIVEN PER= <br />IdISSION TO BERTH THEIR BOAT AT THE REDWOOD CITY YACHT HARBOR RENTAL FREE. Council- <br />man Spillers moved approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Royer and <br />carried. <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDED ORDINANCE BE CREATED TO BAN ALL DOGS FROM PLAY <br />AREAS AND PLAYGROUNDS IN REDWOOD CIT`r', as they had become nuisances during the past <br />year. Council an Granger moved that City Attorney be instructed to prepare an <br />ordinance on this subject only, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />PARK 4 RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDED THAT CITY ACQUIRE LOT #12, BLOCK #21 THE OAKS <br />RE -SUB OF LOT #11 WOOSTER-WHITTON & MONTGOMERY ADJACENT TO THE COMMUNITY PARK AND <br />FACING KING STREET. This was recommended in the Master Plan to be held for future <br />parking areas. Mr. Warren S. Terriberry of 946 King Street had requested City <br />+ Collector to sell him a portion of this property. Councilman Spillers moved this <br />be referred to the Real Estate Committee for a report, seconded by Councilman Jones <br />and carried. <br />8014ETI1Z AGO THE COUNCIL TOOK ACTION THAT ALL COMMISSIONS WERE TO SEND COPY OF THEIR <br />141NUTES TO EACH COUNCIL MEMBER and Councilman Granger, Moved that Recreation Commission, <br />Port Commission, Planning Commission, Personnel Board, Traffic Fact Finding Committee <br />and Library Board, all send copies of their minutes to them in ample time before the <br />Council meeting so the Council would have 'knowledge of the workings of each organi- <br />nation and be in better position to act, much more favorably in their behalf. M6tion <br />seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />PETITION FOR CONCRETE CURBS, GUTTERS AND PAVING WAS SUBI:ITTED, SIGNED BY 12 PROPERTY <br />OWNERS, ON BAY ROAD >?ETWEEN BROADWAY &SPRING AND BETWEEN CHESTNUT AND BEECH <br />1 <br />' STREETS. Councilman Granger moved this be referred to the City Engineer,, for check- <br />ing and report back at the next meeting, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />STANLEY-WESTGATE IMPROVEMENTS.
