113 <br />purposes through M. J. King, Inc.. So authorized on motion of Councilman Spillers, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones, and carried. <br />PROPOSED SALE OF BONDS, SEWER AND WATER PROJECTS. City Manager Rolison.advised it would be <br />necessary to sell bonds within 90 days in order to carry on the projects now under way. <br />On motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Royer, City Manager Rolison <br />was authorizeA to proceed with the sale of bonds. Motion carried. <br />UPLAND ROAD SEWERS. City Engineer Jain advised bond houses had checked the area and were <br />interested in the bonds inasmuch as area was developed with houses on all lots. On <br />motion of Councilman Royer, seconded by Councilman Spillers, City Engineer Jain was <br />authorized to proceed with the project subject to proper petition. Motion carried. <br />LETTER FROM CITY OF FRESNO announcing Biennial Mayors and Couneilmens Institute was ordered <br />filed. <br />LETTER FROM MRS. WALTER CONRADT addressed to Councilman Jones expressing appreciation for <br />granting of improvements on the.Alame.da from De Anza to Eaton Avenue was read and <br />ordered filed. <br />ON MOTION OF COUNCILMAN ROYER, seconded by Councilman Spillers, City Attorney Currie was <br />directed to draw a contract with the Central Cafe similar to the one drawn with the <br />West Bay Lumber Company last year, subject to the approval of the Park and Recreation <br />Commission. Motion carried. <br />EXTENSION OF STREET SIGNS. Mayor Granger asked for a report on.the further extension of <br />signs on Roosevelt.Avenue. <br />PAINT SOLDIER MONUMENT, UNION CEMETERY. Mayor Granger requested that the monument be <br />painted prior to Decoration Day. <br />STUDY MEETING TUESDAY, MAY 6th at 4:00 P. M. to discuss proposed annexation of Taylor <br />property, 54 acres. Councilman Royer asked that all Councilmen be present, also City <br />Engineer and City Manager. <br />LOUD SPEAKER AND DISTURBANCE - Colored Elk's Club on Willow Street. Regarding complaint of <br />excessive noise, Police Chief Wood reported that the District Attorney had cited the <br />Manager of the Club. City Attorney Currie was requested to contact the District <br />Attorneyts office and report the complaint. <br />PAYMENT OF CLAIMS. Claims Nos. 7937 to 8060 inclusive, totaling $34,2".63 were ordered <br />paid on motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Jones, and carried. <br />RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF CHIEF AVIATION MACHINISTtS MATE, GEORGE OTIS ROW was offered by <br />Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney and carried on roll call. <br />ADJOURNMENT TO MONDAY, May 12, at 8:.00 P.
