Mr. Rolison suggested meeting with the <br />street lighting committee due to the fact that 1952-53 budget is now being prepared. <br />'Councilman Royer moved that the portion of the City Manager's report concerning Topaz <br />Street area be eliminated, and offered the committee's recommendation that the in- <br />ntailation of additional lighting facilities in the Topaz area be proceeded with <br />at-6n6e.='Motion seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. Then followed a dis- <br />it decided <br />aussion as to the authority of the Special Street Light Committee'and was <br />this committee would offer priority recommendations to the Council on any or all of <br />the lighting program. <br />REPAIRS TO EASTER CROSS. City Manager Rolison advised immediate repairs were necessary <br />to avoid same being blown down and possible severe damage. This job cannot be done by <br />the City as it required special equipment. The services of Mr. E. H. Bean were se- <br />cured to do the work at a price not to exceed 10495, the materials such as cables, <br />clamps and shackles secured for a cost of $367.20. Mr. Rolison asked authority to <br />transfer, the amount of $862.20 from Unbudgeted Reserve to Miscellaneous Government <br />Expenses. Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION No. 12+7 and moved adoption, sec- <br />' <br />ended by Councilman .zones, and carried. <br />i <br />CITY ENGINEER JAIN'S REPORT OTT MARSHALL STREET. This report will be studied at the meeting <br />Monday evening May 12th. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATION TO ABANDON 18 foot strip on Fairview Avenue. Coon - <br />oilman Royer moved recommendation of the Planning Commission, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers. Motion was lost on roll call vote, Councilmen Royer -and Spillers voting Aye. <br />REPORT ON FERRIER CASE. City Assessor Brophy advised he had received a letter from Execu- <br />tive Secretary E. W. Chapman in which the entire case was reviewed. He advised <br />further that the Industrial Accident Commission would set a special hearing soon. <br />City Attorney Currie and Mr. Brophy will get together to study this case further. <br />ABATEMENT PROCEEDINGS - 135 BUCKEYE STREET. This matter came up at the November 5, 1951 <br />i <br />meeting at which time Attorney O'Keefe asked for time to settle a probate hearing. <br />Six months was granted and nothing has been done to date. Councilman Spillers moved <br />that the building be posted, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. City Attorney <br />Currie will contact Attorney O'Keefe regarding this matter. <br />CONTINUATION ABATEMENT <br />PROCEEDINGS ON FRANKLIN MORTUARY, 926 Middlefield Road. This was <br />carried over on the agenda for the meeting of May 19, on motion of Councilman Royer, <br />seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />APPOINTMENT OF M IBER FOR PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION. City Manager Rolison appointed, <br />subject to approval of the City Council, Mrs. Catherine Brennan, tern to expire <br />April 12, 1956. The appointment was approved on motion of Councilman Royer, seconded <br />by Councilman Herkner, and carried. <br />AUTHORIZE CITY CLERK DODGE TO ACCEPT DEED, 6' sewer easement through Black No. 1 in <br />Sterling Highlands No. 3.
